Angelic Host!

Reviewed By ginof2022

We heard about this place through social media. After arrival, my other half and I were greeted with the most welcoming host. We were astonished to see antique furnitures and decor throughout the resort. The scenery was full of life, and the food was something you could never forget. As the host said, the food was made with magic. As for the rooms we felt like we were in paradise. At first, we were concerned that it would be a hot night due to no AC or Fans. But then we would soon find out that it wasn't necessary, because it was surprisingly cool, and breezy. I would like to thank Susanne and her wonderful hospitality, staff (Penny), and joyful dogs (Her family) for such a great experience. If you're looking for a getaway with someone you care about. Please visit Bikendrik and give Susanne the same joy we shared with her, it was a short lived stay but a memorable one that we'd visit again. Stay safe.

Best Hotel in Majuro

Love this place. They are super warm and friendly. Collette and her staff will bend over backwards to accommodate guests. The can connect you with anything on Majuro fishing, boating, car rental, etc. Rooms are comfortable with ocean and garden views. Beatiful court yard garden. Prices are reasonable, free bottled water and coffee mix in your room. Hotel has a good restaurant and is one of THE local gathering places. Definately the best and in my opinion the only place to stay in Majuro.

I spent the night at the hotel and had a great time. As some of the reviews are dated I can provide an update. The hotel is an easy walk from the harbor. It is very clean and basic. I had one of the cheaper rooms and it had very good AC, a refrigerator and a small veranda. It was very clean and had a new TV with cable channels from Kwajalein. The restaurant was open and I ate in there several times. The food was good. Ebeye is a fascinating place with an interesting history and a charming people. I am looking forward to a return.

Arno B&B

A different world and culture

Reviewed By Rik C

Francis is an outstanding host. The hotel faces the windward atoll shore, with beautiful fine white sand. I preferred the open ocean dock a mile down the road facing leeward, for fantastic snorkeling. Francis lent me a bike. His staff did some wonderful local style food for dinner for us. I ended up leaving all my canned food supplies, ha ha. The regular shuttle was down. I rode a fast yellow boat, skipper named Spencer. I was quoted $13 or $20 dollars one way. When the trip was over, Spencer tried to charge me $350 for the shuttle round trip. I would never get on that yellow boat or any boat with Spencer again.

Apart from pristine beaches and great fishing, snorkelling and more, a stay at Arno Island Lodge allows visitors to connect with the local villagers and get a feel for life on a small island community.

Arno is beautiful but beware of Eva

Reviewed By Bec_lynn

This is the only place to stay on Arno. Arno is so beautiful--the coral is untouched and the Marshall Islands are a sanctuary for sharks so the snorkeling is quite lovely. There isn't electricity so at night you see more stars than you can imagine. The bungalow is right next to the beach on the lagoon side, so you fall asleep to the sound of the waves in the evening. A few practical details: Buy food in Majuro to bring to Arno--there is not a try grocery store, and the rooms have a single burner with minimal cooking utensils. There are solar lightbulbs for the evening, but not electrical plugs. We brought a power pack for charging cameras. Mosquito coils would also be very helpful. There was no working shower while we were there and plumbing was an issue. We were not informed of this in advance. The bungalow is bare essentials and you might as well think of it as a camping hut. We had the opportunity to meet Francis, the owner, as he was on the property the same time as us overseeing the expansion of the bungalow (they are building a new building for future tourists). He was so lovely, welcoming, and even invited us to a lovely BBQ dinner one evening. He couldn't have been nicer. With that being said, we also had a very unfortunate run in with his daughter, Eva, the morning we departed. After reserving the room in advance through our friend who lives in Majuro, Eva came to us 10 mins before we got on the boat to tell us there was no room for us. Then, she told us we could sleep in cots in a public space her family was currently occupying for the same price. Then, she told us we could have the bungalow room after all, if we paid 2x what we have previously been quoted in price (both when our friend booked for us, and when we confirmed once we arrived in Majuro). Additionally, she took advantage of the other visitors who arrived to Arno a few days before us--charging them hundreds of dollars for their boat transport ($600 to be exact) while we only paid $20 each (the regular ferry wasn't running). She told them they had to private charter a boat, but then allowed another passenger to book a ride and pay her (Eva) on their "private" chartered boat, charging that passenger $29. I would strongly caution anyone from doing business with her as she takes advantage, is very dishonest, and was quite rude to us.

the owner Isaac is very kind and considerate and helps in all he can, but the hotel is old, the rooms are run down, dirty, the beds years ago they were not cleaned thoroughly, the walls were filthy, many insects (and I do not fear the bugs), the sheets with holes, the shower shattered, in short, that if I were not a globetrotter and my stay outside for more than two nights would have changed. I do not know why Mr. Isaac, but this hotel does not meet the minimum, there are other options in the center at the same price, for example the Tide Table, next to the post office. I paid 50 Us $ per night room with a / c.
