First class

Reviewed By Willowandwitch

Stayed here 1 June for one night after Flamingo Land with my grandchildren. First class service for food, and a warm welcome. Rooms are clean and beds very comfortable. We stayed in a family room with a huge king sized bed and 3 singles, plenty of room for everyone. The evening meal was lovely, and not expensive. The breakfast included in the price was also lovely. It is a very short drive from Flamingo Land so ideal for a stop over. Would definitely recommend and would stay again.

Excellent food and great service

Reviewed By h m

We were looking for a place for a mid week meal and weren’t disappointed at all. We had originally booked for 6 but the by pass was so busy we didn’t return from York until 6.30, this was not a problem at all for the staff and they were so kind. Our meal was brilliant. The food was piping hot and done to a nice standard. For a Tuesday night the pub was mega busy with people eating food so this must be the calibre of a pub with a good reputation. The menu was varied and definitely worth a try.

What a Gem!

What a lovely place to stay, couldn't fault it. Simon & co were very welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. The food was delicious, locally sourced & good choice of dishes. Very good size room & ensuite, spotlessly clean & most importantly a super comfy bed!! A great weekend away made even better by the night stay there. Hope to be back later in the year.

Angry

Reviewed By kazza008

I checked on booking that gluten free breakfast would be available, and again when we checked in. Unfortunately with no real apology chef told me they'd been really busy because of the food festival and she forgot to buy anything in. We found the whole experience disappointing just little things like 2 conditioners and no shampoo in the room. 2 salt pots on table and having to hunt for pepper. Table being cleared before we'd finished breakfast and just a 'thanks' when we handed the key in. We wont be paying £150 for 1 night in there again.

Visited mid week for a few days break. Lodge was perfect. Clean and all the mod cons. Found the hot tub amazing after a long day. Visited flamingo land and Whitby which were very enjoyable. In short driving distance of York also. Food in Malton was hard to choose between, didn’t have a bad meal. Welcome book gave ideas which were appreciated, enjoyed food and cocktails! Will definitely be going back, thank you for a great break.

Beautiful stay!

Reviewed By 493rosieb

We stayed for the bank holiday weekend, the room was immaculate and we were made to feel so welcome! Fresh scones and tea on arrival and a beautifully cooked breakfast each morning! The location was fantastic as it was out of the way but also down a track and your back onto the main road to travel anywhere! The bed was lovely and comfy, the tv offered lots of channels, wifi was spot on and the overall feel was a home from home! Being 7 months pregnant cleanliness and comfort were top of my list for a b&b and i must say this is by far the nicest place I’ve ever stayed at! The price was incredible as well!! Thankyou so much for a wonderful stay, we have already recommended you to all our family and friends!
