A comfortable hotel to stay.
Reviewed By weiminn2018A comfortable stay in a pleasant Hotel that is centrally located. We selected the hotel from a list provided by TA and from the description this was a good hotel. Bookings were made through Agoda and the check-in process was smooth. Rooms for comfortable but not luxurious. Choose a lower floor so that the water pressure is good. The hot water took quite some time to warm up. Everything else was comfortable. Bella says good thing you got to look after your car if it is parked in the open.

Reviewed By lingwongsllove everything about this hotel and enjoyed our stay here location - not in town but is still very convenient. very near to the popular lake garden. ninso, kluang rail coffee shop and a few eateries are just round the corner. parking on site and is free. from the doorstep you will get a good view of the sunset as well as the royal crown room - clean and nice. toiletries kit, slippers, coffee making facilities and bottled water are provided. there's a hairdryer and rain shower with good water pressure in the clean bathroom. lobby and others - minimalist and modern looking with a lift - yes, if you choose not to climb the stairs to first or second floor. beside the lift is a small business room. there's a bar offering cold and hot beverages at reasoanable prices or you can help yourself to the free sliced lemon + cucumber iced water. there is a room on the second floor with a set of table and chairs and a hot/cold water dispenser. also available is ironing facility. staff - they are a polite, friendly, helpful and accommodating bunch. we got tips and info on what to eat and places to go. they even suggested we call food delivery and provided us the cutlery and plates. thank you QT, Redzuan, Shirley and Linn. Also thanks to boss Anson for the "biskut rapuh" and osmanthus/peppermint cold tea.

Holiday with family and kids
Reviewed By Katchuen38It’s located very near to train station just a straight road down a slope. If you walk straight down from train station, it’s on your left hand side. The lobby is small but the rooms are spacious. The bed and pillows are firm. The only downside is you can hear the noise from the roads outside. If you are light sleeper you may need ear plugs. The local coffee shop opposite the hotel sells very cheap and yummy local food. All the shopping malls are with walking distance like 8-10mins. We went to Parkson and the Kluang Mall.

Reviewed By muhib2400Good hotel for those plan to have a stay in Kluang.. Clean and friendly staff. The kopitiam is just underneath the hotel and you should not be warry about foods. They even give voucher which you can use at the kopitiam at any tims of your stay. The only negative thing about this hotel is no lift. This may not be a good option for elderly..

Cheap but think twice!

However, rest assured that I will also always check on the room photos and details prior to any booking (yes, irregardless of the price). 1) Room booked is not as how decent, how clean it is as showed in the booking site, Agoda.com. 2) Received the 1st room, checked in, rather dirty and certainly not well maintained - stained walls, hair on the bed, dusty bedside table, no closet and no hangers, no bedroom slippers or towel. Upon checking with the staff, was told some of the items will only be provided upon request ; some doesn't come with it at all. ? Most interesting is, the staff mentioned he has no idea what is being showed on booking site! Guess what, my better half is thinking if I've booked a quick hotel. ? 3) Well, managed to get the room changed. Seems better but well, below expectation for a so called 3 star hotel as per booking site. Huge patch of water leaking marks on the ceiling, semi-broken window blinds, etc. 4) Service level - the guy is working alone, all alone for the night. Well, doesn't seems too cheerful but at least helpful in changing the room. Overall, the hotel is kinda run down. Don't be conned by photos unless you really don't mind. I would really compliment on the nice and clean lobby but certainly not on the others, including the musky carpet along the corridor. My advise is twice twice when you make a booking. All depends if you are looking for a cheap room (so long there's a bed) or cheap quality hotel rooms. I do hope the hotel manager/ owner can really improve the hotel standards. By the way, why would there be an astray if smoking is not permitted in the room? Isn't it funny? Well.. That's just how Merdeka Hotel is.

More bad than good

Comfortable and nice mattress Con: 1. Non Smoking room smell smoke. Really annoying 2. Broken lamp. I don't bother to ask for different room, not worth my time. But because of this, the room only has 30% light 3. Slippery bathroom. This is not a joke. Really slippery 4. Soundproof really bad. I can hear bird outside, rain on top of ac unit outside the room.

Good family getaway
Reviewed By TL7Took the 2D-1N package and was overall happy with our stay. The chalet was basic but spacious, well kept and clean. Not many visitors during that period so it was comfortable and quiet. The farm tour was interesting - had the opportunity to interact and feed several animals, as well as taste goat milk produced by the farm. That being said I do wish that we could have seen more animals during the tour, and the Jakun village visit could have definitely been improved and curated better. The sheep challenge was a fun family activity and the steamboat dinner provided in the package was decent as well. A good experience nonetheless, especially for families with children.

Reviewed By cooldoc1971This is a decent hotel with ample parking spaces. The room was clean and functional, but there was a significant unpleasant odour, most likely from cigarette smoke, which went away after leaving the window open and air-conditioning on for a few hours.
