The Acantha Boutique Hotel was recently built on the most beautiful beach on the Erikoussa island and is protected from winds and sea storms. It has just four double rooms and one independent suite, all of which have a private bathroom and air-conditioning. The furniture is modern and comfortable and was carefully chosen to offer guests a sensation of elegance and neatness which give the holiday that extra something special. Achantha Boutique Hotel offer a half board with breakfast and dinner "a la carte"; the restaurant offers a traditional but refined cuisine: you can enjoy recipes from Mediterranean tradition but also taste ethnic dishes: cooking techniques blend the typically Mediterranean flavours of fish, meat and vegetables with local ingredients and typical culinary styles from different cultures to provide guests with familiar sensations combined with the creativity and originality of new flavours. Acantha Boutique Hotel organizes sailing cruises on his DS45 "Velavevodetto" to the surrounding island of Diapontie ( Othoni, Matrachi, Diaplo ), or trips in inflatable boats to discover other uncontaminated beaches in the area.

Paradise - Italy meets Greece

If you are very lucky and get an opportunity to stay at this magnificent hotel you will be rewarded with one of the best, perfectly hosted, holiday experiences of your life. We were recommended to stay here by friends and we were allowed to stay during Covid when the hotel was closed. We instantly fell in love with the Island and we were welcomed by Franca and Sandro and their gorgeous dog, Calypso. What followed was day after day of very fine and subtle Italian gastronomy and an eclectic and lovely band of local people who live and holiday on the island. An Italian lawyer, a local Greece doctor, a TV presenter from Athens and his lovely mother and an Italian translator. They made us part of their lives and shared their slice of paradise with such generosity that I feel so compelled to share it in this review. Although part of me wants to keep this wonderful place a secret. Stay, be open, demonstrate your appreciation and you will be rewarded with the best holiday of your life; an enduing memory that will for ever be part of your family history - my daughter will never forget the gentle and loving care nor will she forget the chocolate cake cooked with love every night - semplicemente fantastico !!!!! Massively missed the mark…

I thought I was booking the best hotel on the island but on arrival we were checked into an ant infested room. I don’t mean just a few, they were everywhere…in every drawer, every cupboard, crawling all over the floor and on the tea/coffee facilities. They were even in the bathroom. Just everywhere, and in their hundreds. Having told us the resort was 95% full, suddenly it was completely full when I asked to change rooms and that’s when the problems really began. Having been told we couldn’t have dinner until 9.45pm (just what you want when you’ve been travelling since 5am), they said they would sort the room issues whilst we had dinner. So we had to eat without any chance to refresh ourselves post flight but we agreed because there was no way I was unpacking into that room. Throughout the course of dinner we had several visits from people saying they would ask the cleaners to get rid of the ants but I said no I wanted a different room. Phrases such as ‘oh no you’re so unlucky’ and ‘it’s nature’ were used but there seemed little embarrassment or acknowledgement that they needed to find a solution and I reminded them that it should not be a lottery when you are paying upwards of €500 per night! Eventually tiredness and frustration got the better of me and I ended up in tears. Only then did they miraculously ‘find’ another room for us. By this point it was almost 11.00pm so I accepted even though there were still a few ants, but not in the quantities of the first room. Actually this whole hotel has an ant problem, they’re everywhere you go in this resort. So not the best start but we decided to put it behind us and move past it, despite being disturbed again at almost midnight and offered a complimentary half a sandwich on a plate. Totally bizarre!! The resort itself is nice but the service doesn’t reach the level it needs to at this price point. I wanted to see the island but repeated attempts to find out information on trips etc. via the concierge met with vagueness and ‘we’ll get back to you’. In the end the only thing they offered was a boat trip costing upwards of €700 for a half day and a trip into Corfu town on the Mirametta (their own boat) which we had understood included a short tour but in fact was a direct shared transfer that took 20 minutes and cost €150 one-way. They offered no information proactively and we found out from another guest towards the end of our stay that there is a bus that stops 2mins away from the hotel and takes you direct to Corfu Town for just a couple of euros. Why not tell guests that! Food was hit and miss. Don’t bother with half board as it’s less good quality food. The Raw bar was good but Makris which actually did have good service had a limited half board menu and nothing on it was decent. The pool bar menu was good and the food there was excellent, although everything was overpriced, but that was true of the whole resort. It all seemed to come from the same kitchen so I couldn’t understand the difference in standards. Trying to get served anywhere other than the main restaurant was often a challenge yet they always delivered the bill before we’d finished eating. The final straw was on our last day when the heavens opened (bad weather had been forecast so it wasn’t a surprise) and they just had no clue how to deal with guests wanting lunch. Lots of ‘sorry no you can’t have that menu at those seats’ despite it all being close together on one level so what difference did it make and ‘we can’t plan for the weather’ wore very thin with many of the guests who all seemed to be struggling with the same issues we were. To make matters worse they had lots of staff keep coming and asking if we were ok but no one actually sorting the issues out. I’ve travelled in luxury all over the world and am very happy to pay high prices if it’s matched by excellent service but I don’t like feeling ripped off and unfortunately I left feeling exactly that. I will return to Corfu as it’s fabulous but I won’t be returning here that’s for definite as quite frankly they spoilt our much needed and looked forward to holiday.

A 5 star hotel with amazing staff

Reviewed By amandacY7567XT

We stayed for 11 nights on the ultra all inclusive package and had a wonderful experience, the hotel is gorgeous and the staff are exceptional. All of them are so pleasant, friendly, efficient; Lucia on reception was particularly helpful. My hotel app wasn’t working so she helped us book all the hotel excursions with such patience, she’s a dream. Alexos who helped us with our luggage was suoer, Cedric up at the Aquapark.pool bar is an absolute ray of sunshine, and Veny at the Asian Restaurant, again what a joy, nothing too much trouble, they are all amazing. Food is fabulous, a little slow on sone of the restaurants but we weren’t in a hurry so it was never a problem. The hotel grounds are immaculate, glorious colours and yellow butterflies everywhere. We spent most of the time by the beach where we did paddle boarding, kayaking and pedalos which were all courtesy of the hotel, Also up at the Aquapark which gets busy but it’s fun and has a lovely infinity pool. If you go, try and book the hotel boat to Corfu town and the sunset cruise which are really worth doing but you have to book as soon as you get there as they get full really quickly. My son tried the kids club and although the team were fantastic with him he felt that 11 he was too old and the kids were a lot younger, but there were plenty of things to keep him occupied around the hotel and water sports etc. We didn’t travel with Jet2 holidays however we found their rep Sophie to be far more accessible and informative than ours, she really gave us some great information during our stay, Jet2 should value her! One more thing, all the public areas smell gorgeous, it’s the hotel’s signature scent which you can buy as a room spray or in candle form from the hotel shop, it smells divine! We will definitely return to this gem of a hotel in a gorgeous location.

Set in magnificent landscaped gardens /45000 sq. m./ with an abundance of pine- eucalyptus and cypress trees, well maintains its prominent position amongst Corfu’s top hotels. The hotel is very close to Corfu town and also nearby the major archaeological sites offering the perfect base for those seeking to explore the island.

Beautiful spot on Kanoni

Stayed here half board in may. Don’t be put off by the fact if your room overlooks the lake/ lagoon it also overlooks the runway of the airport. The flights seem to stop by midnight or before so it’s not a problem. The hotel is spacious , very clean and well laid out. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful in all roles. The food was very good with lots of choice both at Breakfast and Dinner. The pool area is very nice and has both a bar and snack bar and towels are provided. In the pool area there is a lady who runs an Aqua aerobics class in the pool most days except the weekends. Please take part or go up and watch she is very funny and a very good teacher. There’s a lift from the pool area down to the beach where there is a snack bar and drinks bar, sun beds and umbrellas are available free to guests. From the beach it’s only a short walk to Vlacherna and along the jetty are boats that will take you to Mouse Island for 2€. You can also walk across the causeway toward Perama. There is also a lovely Taverna at the jetty which catch’s the sun well into the evening where you can watch the aircraft coming in over Vlacherna and the causeway to touch down. Kanoni is quite a pretty area and the hotel is only20 mins. walk to Mon Repo which is worth a visit. There is a good bus service into Corfu town and takes around 15-20 mins. depending where you get off. If you are booking a trip with a hotel pick up stipulate that your pick up is CORFU HOLIDAY PALACE as there are three hotels with Corfu Palace in the name two in Kanoni and one in Corfu town. If the bus doesn’t turn up after 5 minutes ring the number you will have been given. I would certainly recommend Corfu Holiday Palace.

We've just had 2 weeks all inclusive. Overall the hotel is really very good and the staff are exceptional. The room was spectacular and the views to die for. Thanks to Aneta for keeping it spotless. The food was very good. The choice in the Buffet restaurant was first class and the service also. Many thanks to Maria, Georgia and all the staff who work so hard. Special thanks to "Gus" the Restaurant Manager who was superb. Special mentions to the Poolside bar staff, Eva and particularly "Harry" who looked after us for the duration.Excellent! A really nice young man. All the staff were very good from the towel man to the pool cleaners. One disappointment regarding the pool area is the toilets, they really need a makeover as we felt they where a bit "Grotty". Apart from that we would definitely go back when the travel industry get off their arse's and give us value for money and not the horrendous conditions we have to put up with at present.

Incredible Experience for our First Trip to Corfu!

Wow! The staff at this resort are some of the best we have experienced throughout our travels. The grounds and the beach are amazing but the staff really sets the place apart. Eirini at guest services was incredible and really made our trip. We were going to hire a driver to explore the island and she suggested we rent a car. I hate dealing with the pick up and drop-off hassle and when I mentioned this she said she could have a car dropped off and picked up at a very reasonable price. We went for it and we were on the road in 30 mins! She mapped out all the highlights for us and we were able see all the best beaches and cool beach clubs. Highly recommend La Grotta! Thanks Eirini! The food, drinks and service were all top-notch, the staff was very thoughtful and helpful throughout our stay. Thanks everyone on the team!

Below Standards, beware of your expectations

Reviewed By ItisaBeautifulWorld

We stayed at Angsana Corfu in the end of May 2022. And what a disappointment. I believe Banyan Tree should review the agreement they have managing this hotel because this will be bad publicity on their name. I will try to keep this review short since it is always sad to make a negative review. The positive: Location. From this locations you can quickly access beaches on both sides of the Island, East and West. Also a quick drive to many sightseeing locations. Close to Benitses centre where You find many great Restaurants. The seeting on the Hill with Beautiful views to Ionian Sea and nice Infinity Pool. We had support from a lovely Concierge, Katia. She was the exception in kindness among the staff. The negatives: Bad service overall from restaurants, beach, pool and Housekeeping. They have a lot of staff but they are under trained and seem to be unhappy. Some of the staff was not friendly, and a few times displayed an aggressive attitude towards us, when we asked for the most simple things. Breakfast, below standard for a Banyan Tree 5 stars hotel in what concerns food quality and diversity. Caffe takes forever to be brought to the table. Often just when we had ended our meal. The floor was never cleaned between clients and a few times I had to mind where to step to avoid fallen food getting to my shoes. Housekeeping. Terrible. Rooms where poorly cleaned. Twice, while having the privacy light on, staff came in to my room. And we where not fully dressed. The corridors accessing the rooms where dirty the whole time. Beach Bar food is just cold sandwiches or salads and with poor quality. Room. We were given a connecting room although we asked for individual room. We where told the hotel was fully booked and we could not move to another. Next day we got a call telling us they had another room but we had already unpacked. And yes You can hear everything that goes on, on the connecting neighbouring room. Upon arrival until checking out nobody asked us if we enjoyed our stay. Exception to a bell boy that helped us with our luggage when leaving. I could share more negatives but it isn't a pleasure to do so. We also spoke with other guests who shared the same feeling of disappointment. Sadly I cannot recommend this hotel.

Spiros, Alexandra, Iris Maria, Angelika Effi all give the hotel a great feeling. Everything is held beautifully together by the great restaurant manager Kostas. We received a delightfully, warm welcome from Lina on reception. We enjoyed the evening meals which were always delicious, although I'm not a desert person, I found them so irresistible!
