Reviewed By Explorer47589836784This hotel is somewhat nondescript although apparently the best hotel in the city. Friendly concierge although poor English and mediocre service. Avoid children’s day as this renders the place quite noisy. You will appreciate the view of the animation park opposite the hotel.

Reviewed By D_and_G_2008Room is big & clean but the mattress is too hard. Facilities are plentiful but WiFi is unstable & sometimes unaccessible. Good location with quick access to the lake-side walkway of the Bomun Lake. We emailed the hotel to assist us in booking a table at Yosokkoong or else we won't be able to dine there. The hotel was so helpful & speedy in response.

Reviewed By Zaba14Clean and decent size room, friendly staff, and a short walk to the Express Bus Terminal. From the hotel, it's easily walkable to attractions such as the Cheonmachong Tomb, and many of the restaurants highlighted by others here on Tripadvisor. Furthermore, the hotel is right by the main road, which meant easily accessible buses to attractions further out, such as Bulguksa temple and Seokguram Grotto. My only slight quibble is how high and hard the pillows are, everything else was great.

Reviewed By thelonious22Bomun Lake area is a few miles away from all of the sights but a pleasant area to stay in. The area lacks dining options but Gyeongju is not known for good restaurants anyway. Room was clean and comfortable but some rooms don't have much o view. Since we were out sightseeing for most of the day this hotel was adequate. If looking for a spot to relax in, there are better options in the area.

Reviewed By Min PProbably the best comfy and friendly hotel in Gyeongju. Staff were really helpful and kind, and the room was clean and spacious. On top of that, the tv had all the cable channels, so never got bored? I would definitely go there again, when visiting Gyeongju.

My room, which was the western style upgraded room (only about $10 more a night) was new and beautiful. It was so clean and well appointed. I loved the lighting and the furniture in the room and the bathroom and amenities were also nice. I had to do some work, and the desk was very comfortable. My room, on the 5th floor of the second building (not the one with the front desk) had a wonderful view of the surrounding mountains. I really enjoyed my time there the days that I had to stay inside and work. And it's so well located near many of the sights and also shopping and eating districts. It's also right by the train station and big market, and only a 15 min walk to the bus station. Plus they have a laundry and a sauna. I used it twice before it closed due to Covid. It had a really nice dry sauna. It was a little worn down, but it was also free!

Reviewed By Sandra WThe Kolon is situated outside of Gyeongju so if you don’t have a car a taxi is necessary. We had a car and drove into town in the evening to eat. It’s a large hotel in need of a bit of tlc now but our room was ok. Breakfast buffet was small but edible; staff helpful.

Great Place to Stay in Gyeongju

While it is located outside the city of Gyeongju, there are many places to shop and eat within a short distance of the hotel. There is even a convenience store in the basement. My room was rather large as asian rooms go. It had a beautiful view of the surrounding grounds and structures. The bathroom was definitely western in design and size. Nice large shower cubicle. Of course, there was the wonderful Korean toilet which does everything but flush itself. Breakfast buffet was very good with a lot of space to eat without crowding out your neighbors. The food was very good. The front desk staff was very helpful.

Reviewed By Alexander SThis guest house is more like a hostel. They do charge a reasonable price for a big breakfast (It is not included in the booking). The rooms are kinda small but you get what you pay for. It is very conveniently located, right next to the intercity bus terminal, and access to public transportation is close by as well. Most of the sights are a bit of a walk away but there is plenty of restaurants, korean and western, near by which makes this a perfect hostel to stay at. The wifi is of good quality, never had a problem with slowness or anything like that.
