Our hotel is situated in the village, just 200 meters from the center, and the departure of the Punta Jolanda chairlift. From here the most beautiful piste linked to the Monterosa-ski resort. We have an excellent restaurant. The chef offers typical dishes of Aosta and Italian culinary tradition. We have a new SPA of the top of the hotel in order to offer to our guests a relaxing afterski.

Reviewed By jamesgE1952UYI phoned up the Hotel Dufor for a last minuite booking in early March. I really wanted a room as I vas very tired after an extremely long drive. Despite the hotel being very busy (no, surprise that it was busy, it is a fantastic hotel!) the lovely manageress was able to fit me in. When I arrived with my friend, the manageress showed us to our room.When we went in I couldn't believe it. It was perfect. It was beautifully furnished, really spacious and with stunning views of the snow covered mountains from the windows. Was ate in the hotel restaurant. I'm used to hotel food and was hugely impressed with our meal. A wonderfully varied and imaginative menu, absolutely delicious, superb local wine and the level of service from the staff was impeccable. I quite simply can't rate this establishment highly enough. I'm really looking forward to a longer stay next year. Hotel Dufor, hats off to you! Thanks, James

Reviewed By CruisingClarkesWe visited this hotel in a quiet week in January. The snow was exceptionally well maintained throughout the resort and the skiing was very enjoyable. Italian prices on the slopes are quite shocking - shockingly cheap that is compared with France! The area is really quiet too compared with many other resorts. After an efficient transfer from Turin, we were pleased to find our room (212) was big enough with excellent amounts of storage and hanging hooks and very quiet. The beds were really comfortable. The food was brilliant - breakfast quite exceptional with delicious bacon and sausages every day. It was buffet style and there was everything you could want plus porridge on order. Afternoon tea was also excellent with a daily soup and choice of cake/ cookies. Complimentary daily Prosecco was followed by tasty evening meals. There was a choice of 3 options for each course with free wine. We found the hotel bar prices to be reasonable. The staff were very friendly and helpful - always cheerful. If you want to know where to go for a lively night out in the quiet village just ask the staff. Debbie the rep was very visible in the hotel, enthusiastic and very helpful in all matters. I recommend the away day to ski in Pila. Well worth the journey with wide cruisy runs all day long. The hotel is almost adjacent to the Punta Jolanda chair lift and you can ski back to the hotel. FYI for any fussy women like me, take your own hairdryer as they have the hose style blowers in the bathrooms! We highly recommend the charming Hotel Valverde.

Friendly helpful owner, good food and a great location
Reviewed By Iestyn1983Went here for a long weekend skiing. We had notified in advance we would be late arriving as we were flying to Milan after work from the uk. We turned out to be even later than anticipated due to our flight being delayed. We told the owner Gigi when we landed and he was up to let us in at nearly 2 in the morning, no issues, showed us our room, sort the details in the morning. Really good of him. The breakfast was a very good selection of cheese, hams, a good croissant, nice cake. Really enjoyable. They also had no issues providing Gluten free for the friend I was with. We ate there one night, and the food was really decent, small menu, but enough choice, I had a lovely stew, prices seemed reasonable to me. Good wine selections. The hotel has a small bar, really useful once I realised that ringing the bell for service was not a problem and I shouldn't feel bad about using the bell. The restaurant and bar are useful because it is a bit out on a limb, inbetween Gressoney and Staffal. However, there is an off road nice path along the river into Gressoney that only actually takes about 20 minutes, so we did that one night. Gressoney is not exactly buzzing, but it's very attractive town with a copuple of decent restaurants and wine bars, so quiet but good rather than raucous. There is a restaurant on the slopes above the hotel called Morgenrot which was excellent, and you can walk up to it |(we did, short but sharp) or they pick you up in a little ski cat (we got dropped down in this), so the location was fine for us, just to be aware that it is in a very quiet little hamlet. The location was great for skiing, skibus stop almost outside (googlemaps shows a lift up from next to the hotel but that no longer exists in reality, you can see where it used to be). Not an issue, because the bus to staffal with lifts in two directions takes 5 minutes. You could also walk up to the slopes, we saw some people do this, however I found it hard enough up to the restaurant in shoes, I didn't fancy it in ski boots! Coming home though you can ski to the back of the hotel almost, just a few metres walk, which is great at the end of a day. The room itself had a balcony with a nice view, was a good size with a decent table as well as the twin beds. The shower was powerful with plenty of warm water. There were a few little niggles, nothing that bothered me, one wall socket was a bit loose, ditto a wardrobe handle, and the drainage on the shower was a bit slow. I didn't mind any of this, but mention it to give a full picture. It's a great value ski-in Italian 3*, so providing your not expecting the Ritz it's great. As well as staying up for our ridiculous late arrival, Gigi and all the staff were always friendly and helpful. We were offered a late checkout so that we could have had our room all day on our last day and had a post ski shower. That didn't actually work for us as we decided to park up by the lift and our ski rental shop in Gressoney to maximise ski time, but it was a kind offer. For the money I can't fault it and recommend it wholeheartedly.

Reviewed By henkej2015The White Moon is not super expensive, neither is it very cheap. This is a mid price B&B with great value. The staff(Martina, Vittorio and Allesandra) are all very friendly and helpful. The downstairs bar is attached to the B&B and this is also where breakfast is served in the mornings. In the afternoons/evenings after a day in the slopes you can always pop in here for a drink or a meal. There is non-stop music in the actual bar section (which we really enjoyed) and in the restaurant section they show football , both Premiere League and Serie A. Downstairs is also a pool table and a few fussball games. If you do visit, plase ask Allesandra to make you a Sardinian Thai drink. She is training to become a bartender and this is something that she invented back home in Sardinia. Very yummy!!! Once again, many thanks for a great stay. If we come back to Gressoney, we will definately choose the White Moon again

Charming little hotel

Details were thoughtful as well as refined. The owners were happy to help in way they could make our stay memorable . We felt very much cared for . Definitely my favorite place in gressoney.

Reviewed By StkvamI stayed at Residence dei Walser in january for a ski-trip with some friends. The sevice at my stay has been one of the best I have ever recieved. The hosts did everything to make my stay as pleasant as possible, and drove us around where we needed to go, went to pick up pizza, organized breakfast, pluss so much more. I would reccomend this bed and breakfast for anyone that wants good service. They really deserve to know how good of a job they are doing, and I hope to be able to come back some time later. Thank you Alexio and Louisa for everything!

Reviewed By Andrew FExcellent hotel perfectly located close to the lifts in Stafal. Rooms are a decent size, particularly the bathrooms, clean and comfortable. An excellent breakfast buffet is served with hot items and the dinner is waiter served 4 courses. The spa is first class and the massage service very professional and relaxing. A large heated boot room downstairs with plenty of space to sit and put on your boots. Thoroughly recommended
