Great agriturismo and restaurant with potentials
Reviewed By Give_BxlStayed over a weekend at this agriturismo. Rooms are spacious and clean. Swimming pool is very nice and clean, surrounded by lovely trees. The farm produces its own wine, including passito, olive oil, cheese, ricotta and even delicious ice cream. The restaurant is good and has great potentials. For the time being one finds the “trattoria” kind of food. So, if that is what one looks for, then it’s great to dine here too, also for great price/quality ratio. Major issue with the stay is noises up the rooms. The rooms are in a lovely old house. Room doors are very (too) thin and also the old beds are extremely noises, at every single move the bed squeaks unbelievably loud. That is very annoying if one has a light sleep. If they fix these two issues than it’s a great shelter for a lovely weekend or even more.

Candida Palace is an elegant and sumptuous historic building set in the ancient village of the beautiful city of Gerace (RC). This B & B is a place to relax and enjoy the artistic beauties of which this small village is rich. The Palace was built by one of the most illustrious bishops that the city has ever had. In fact, Bishop Andrea Candida, Bishop of Gerace 1552-1574, heir to a noble family of Syracuse, was the one who founded the seminary of Gerace and left, for the Cathedral, several paintings of great value and furnishings.
Best place we stayed on 2 week Southern Italy trip
Reviewed By GiulioGRFYou will not be disappointed with this hotel. It was hands down the most beautiful place we stayed on our 2 week tour of Southern Italy. The hosts were amazing, breakfast was fantastic and our room was so wonderful. Perfect for us as we were travelling with our toddler and the bnb was extremely accommodating. Food at the restaurant was amazing as well, we ate there a handful of times during our stay. The town of Gerace is so incredibly beautiful and something right out of a picture you never thought you would actually find! We will definitely be back in the future.

Excellent food in historic surroundings
Reviewed By chiesa2018L’Antico Borgo has four light and airy rooms with large bathrooms and is situated in the Centro storico of Gerace. As well as being a B&B, it is also a restaurant and pizzeria. The menu for the restaurant offers an original selection of dishes developed by the young chef, based on local ingredients but with a modern twist. You will be unlikely to eat anything of this originality or quality elsewhere in the area so worth paying a bit extra in local terms for such a treat. There is also a good range of local wines. We visited last year too and were just as impressed.

Reviewed By JeffandLynThis was a very homey place to stay. Convenient, as we could park just around the corner (parking spaces a premium here!) Host spoke little English, but fine, as we speak a passable Italian. He led us to Ristorante A Squella for a lovely lunch when we arrived. Nice breakfast, gorgeous view & lots of books about the region to browse through.

Ambiente rilassante dotato di tutti i comfort necessari ad un piacevole soggiorno. Abbiamo alloggiato nella Suite Reale, in una camera molto spaziosa e ben tenuta con cura dei dettagli. Ricca colazione in un salone sottostante con ampia scelta. Abbiamo apprezzato che a disposizione degli ospiti (magari per la sera) ci fossero biscotti e liquori locali. Parcheggio privato gratuito all'interno dalla proprietà.

A lovely setting and friendly staff
Reviewed By SFB22I worked virtually from Palazzo Sant'anna and the staff couldn't have been more helpful, especially Simon (a big thank you). Nothing was too much trouble. The hotel has a relaxing feel and is in a great position, for the breathtaking views and also for the rest of the beautiful old town. I'll definitely be staying here next time I'm in lovely Gerace.

This Italian house is a pure delight.

Amazing views from a cool, breezy balcony...with a snack, caffe or glass of wine....ahhhhhh!
Reviewed By TLB269Our room was somewhat comfortable, since the A/C was central and the owner turned it on and off/controlled it, and it was never cool enough for us. It was in the mid to upper 30sC while we were there for 2 days and even the mornings were warm, humid early in the day. The best room in the place was the public balcony off the kitchen...cool breezes helped you relax and that's where we sat for a lot of our time there. Sleeping was tough in the heat. Also, the road to and from this B/B was dangerous=steep with sharp turns.
