While we booked primarily for its location—and were not disappointed, it’s the best hotel location in the city, hands down—we found many other things to appreciate. The warm welcome of the staff, especially Massimiliano, who made excellent suggestions for a nearby place for an aperitivo and a restaurant for dinner, and also explained the convenient parking; the wide range of choices in the excellent breakfast buffet (so nice to have self-service back in Italy!); The clean, modern rooms and spotless modern bathrooms; the thoughtful touches like a warming towel rack and convenient dressing stool in the bathroom. After this very pleasant stay we would never consider any other hotel in Ferrara. Simply the best hotel in an ideal location—a true gem!

Reviewed By NK34567I had a very comfortable stay at Alchimia. It is walking distance to city centrum. The owner is very friendly and helpfull. The breakfast is good and the owner cooks so delicious omlettes and prepares very good cappucino. I definitely recommend this place.

Nice Find In Ferrara
Reviewed By 451marcusfA really nice hotel a short walk from the town centre. I was in a loft room, it’s split over 3 levels with bedroom on the top and toilet the bottom. The room was cleaned daily, I stayed for 2 weeks, well and even on weekends. The breakfast had an option of scrambled egg, but it was cold and microwaved!! Dreadful tasted like rubber. So pastries it was after that experience. In t room there was loads of space and it was set up really well. It was way too hot mind and this made sleeping hard, I had switched the heating off yet still the heat came in. The pillows were hard, and not comfy. One night there was a damn disco in the centre of the hotel, a court yard. Room was vibrating it was so noisy, couldn’t sleep. On complaining the receptionists view was it was “only one night” & she didn’t appear to care. A simple warning ahead or an apology, I don’t know a free beer? Something to show you valued the €900 I paid? All in all it’s a nice hotel and the staff were great aside the 2 ladies on reception who felt a disco keeping you awake was fine!! A Spanish guest was going mad, but again got him no where. So I would have given a 4 but the attitude of reception to no sleep mean I have a 3. But really you can’t go wrong location wise, it’s a lovely wee place.

The hotel is right in the city center, bordering the pedestrian area, very well kept, modern, neat and clean. Right from the start you can see customer care is their priority. We booked two rooms and when they heard we were a family they upgraded one of our rooms so we could all be on the same floor (without us asking). The rooms were both spacious (4 of us in one of them), bathrooms sparkling clean, very comfortable all together. The morning breakfast was delicious and children were indulged in every way. Again we were complimented with homemade biscuits on departure. Planning on staying again when in Ferrara, a city that well deserves its own trip.

Reviewed By Walt54Good value and nice location. Close to shopping mall and bus stops to get to and from town or train station. Reception staff were courteous and helpful. Top notch. However, maintenance was lacking: drain plug was missing from sink, scratched paint on bathroom door and desk chair and rubber seals on shower door closures were loose/floppy. Breakfast was just ok, but nothing special. Bicycle rental for 3 Euros per day was a great bargain also. Just a short ride to the city center, castle and museums.

Reviewed By bernardfreemanThis hotel was very well located a stones throw from all the major sights in the city. Breakfast was ample but took a long time to be served. Bathroom was clean but shower had no pressure. Bed was rock hard. The ladies at reception were very helpful and did what they could to improve matters which were not really in their control. Wifi did not work every day and there were no TV channels except in Italian. Lighting in room extremely poor which made it hard to even read a book. Would probably not return.
