Wonderful place!
Reviewed By Acovey85Loved everything about this place. We stayed for 3 nights and wished we could have stayed longer. The beds were extremely comfortable (if you like firm beds, which we do), everything was clean, and all the rooms open up to a beautiful courtyard garden. It’s in a perfect location right next to the plaza, Comitán is a great town that we loved exploring and people watching. Highly recommend staying here!

Reviewed By lunaschanelThis hotel is very cute and cozy, also spotless clean. The rooms are kind of small but the beds, linen and comforters are awesome. It has fast internet and cable tv It's only walking distance from downtown, very convenient location with private parking just around the block. It has a restaurant on premises, they offer fresh veggie juices. And an awesome Chi Tea ;)!

Reviewed By SusanafragaWARNING FOR DOG OWNERS! Don't stay here. There is poisoned dog food around. Not kidding. Our dog got killed. Very sad . We found also other dog body. This place is like horror movie. STAY AWAY! There is a campground and I don't understand how they can be dog friendly when they actually kill dogs. When I claim to the receptinist obviously surprise but they should take care that those things don't happen to their visitors.

Reviewed By 897rubiaIf you have a dog this is not the right place for you, they literally closed the doors for me when I went to take my dog to urinate. they have a security guard who is literally next to you making sure you have your mask on 24 hours a day, I imagine that the partners of this hotel do not respect Mexican laws since they force you to use it all the time even when you are eating I felt as if I were in jail or in China I am sure that the owners must be Democrats or because I have never had an experience like this in the chain of city express USA! If you are American, do not expect the same service as in the United States. This is not a hotel. It looks like a jail. By the way, someone like me with PTSD is not the right place. Also, the check-in does not respect the schedule and they called me before my check out time

Bad Experience / Mala Experiencia / no internet and no hot water
Reviewed By Sandra PThis is not really a hotel as much as a house with nice rental rooms built on the upper level. The reason why this is inconvenient is, for example, that the front door remains always locked, but there's rarely anybody at reception. Several times I had to go looking for them in their bedroom or around the house and ask them to open the front door for us. When you've been out, you need to ring the bell several times. Besides from the fact that the internet is slow and non-existent in the room (only close to reception), there was one thing that bothered me the most. On my last night, I approached the owner to express that, contrary to what was promised, we didn't have wifi and that I had showered with cold water twice. I wanted to suggest they advise their clients about the showers. The boiler needs to be turned on half an hour before your shower for the water to be hot. I only learned this on my last night. I tried suggesting that they tell their clients upon check in and avoid the cold water experience. I was never able to finish my thought. The woman angrily said that I didn't pay her enough to keep the boiler on all day and that if the water was cold, I was the stupid one for showering in that condition. Anyway... I wasn't looking for trouble and the place is really not bad, but they don't really know costumer service (it's not a hotel) and if you have the slightest request or complaint she will snap in anger and defensiveness. My last night was unexpectedly unpleasant for this reason. It really is rare to find bad customer service in Mexico, people tend to always listen and be sensible about a solution when it's needed.

Reviewed By TravelJunkySoCalWe got two rooms for everyone in our party. Both rooms were clean but very basic. The towels were crunchy -great for full body exfoliation. I would probably come here again but would be careful to ask for a room that is close to the reception area so as not to be bothered by the music from the bar/nightclub that is behind the property.

Reviewed By martin_chDer sehr zentral gelegene Betrieb wurde vor kurzem eröffnet. Er weist sehr schöne, moderne und komfortable Zimmer auf, siehe Bilder. Der Komfort entspricht der oberen 3-Stern-Kategorie. Leider liegt das Haus an einer steilen, stark befahrenen Einbahnstrasse. Der störende Aussenlärm inklusive Lärm nächtlicher Böllerschüsse dringt durch die weit offene Hoteltür ins ruhige Innere.

Would never stay here again
Reviewed By portlogMy stay started on the right foot. It seemed like everything was going to be OK. Check-in- no problem, friendly people. However as soon as I got to my room, things started going downhill. The room was very, very warm and it smelled like sewage from the bathroom. To cool it down there was a portable air conditioning unit inside the room. The noise that thing made, made it impossible to keep it on at night, so sleep was not great. The bathroom was very small, with no room for my toiletries, so I had to take them out of the bathroom after taking a shower and after brushing my teeth at night. The internet, barely worked inside the guestrooms, and in the lobby area was as slow as a 2003 dial-up. However, the worst part was on the second night (Saturday Night) the hotel had booked two events (a party and a wedding). Unfortunately they only have one space that can be used for parties without bothering the gusts. The wedding happened to take place in the pool/bar area. As it happens, my kids' room faced that exact area and the music at 11PM was at full volume. After complaining to the front desk, the response was that the party will be over in just a few minutes, the contract expired at 11 (thanked them for giving me notice of the potential noise situation). At 11:45 PM, after going to the reception 4-5 times to complain and getting the same (by this time ridiculous answer), asked to talk to the manager, who was very busy on the phone and did not even look at me or make a sign acknowledging my presence. Finally at midnight the music was done, but people still lingered and talked for another hour in that area (no thanks to anyone at the hotel). Needless to say, mi kids had to sleep in my room and I had not much sleep that night.

This boutique hotel offers the customer service. In this wonder magic town where was called Balun Canan by the Mayans. The region is full of natural wealth, of Mayan ruins, of culinary delights, of marimba, of culture, history and tradition.
New and Modern Hidden Gem
Reviewed By mimicalarconUpon our arrival,fifteen minutes after booking a room with a King Size bed, staff directed us to the hotel's secured free parking lot. The receptionist politely apologized that the King Size Bedroom was not available, but generously upgraded our reservation to a spacious Suite Size Room with glass enclosed large elevated bathtub shower with plenty of hot water pressure. The room was nice and spacious, facing the open courtyard with water features. The climate controlled room was well supplied with Espresso machine, complimentary bottled water, high speed wifi, cable tv and other amenities. Staff are very helpful and friendly always ready to assist their guests. Menu Select Choices on the Free Breakfast is included with free coffee refills was a plus. My tamales were so delicious, but give yourself extra time because service was very slow that day. Very close to city main plaza center which is only a walkable 2 short blocks away. We Highly recommend Hotel Nak'An Secreto Maya in Comitan!
