Reviewed By sue_triangleRecently stayed with a group at this wonderful hotel, we all had the most amazing rooms, ours with terrace, and others with balconies with the most wonderful view of Mt Etna. So peaceful, in the morning one awoke to the sound of goats bells! The staff were exceptionally helpful, and the food at their trattoria 50 m up the road was excellent. Breakfast was again taken on a terrace with 'that view.' The shower cubicles are a little dated, but who cares when everything else is so lovely.

Rooms simply furnished, clean and airy, all have bathroom with bath or shower (No air conditioning). 11 Double rooms with sea and Mount Etna view from the balconies. 4 Double rooms without balcony. The building is 40 years old but clean and with a unique view. Restaurant, lounge and terrace facing Etna. Free parking along the road.

Reviewed By Ana_L_23The hotel might seem old, but has the best view in Castelmola. Very friendly staff, that will put the extra mile, to make sure you are happy. Superb breakfast, with the best chocolate croissants I have ever eaten. Nothing beats waking up to the wonderful view over Etna! If you arrive early, you can park at the hotel (they have a few places available).

Reviewed By zuriseetravelerFantastic view - very friendly welcome (only italian spoken, no english, no french, no german) but could navigate the handover. Huuuge terrace, interior design simplistic. Bath is very spartan. Direct view of Etna. We used it as a starting point for some excursions - that was not a good idea - it takes quite a while to get to anything. As a location to go explore the vicinity it is really great. In the afternoon all the day-tourists leave and it is calm and you can have a nice dinner in one of the local restaurants - that was very enjoyable.

Abbiamo ristrutturato Casa Blandano, ottenendo 5 camere accoglienti ed in stile contemporaneo, con l’obiettivo sicuramente ambizioso di eccellere in qualità dei servizi, ospitalità ed accoglienza nell’antico borgo medievale di Castelmola. L’ospite può scegliere in tutta libertà la camera che meglio risponde alle sue esigenze, valutando le caratteristiche di ogni camera. Casa Blandano, situata in pieno centro, ma allo stesso tempo in posizione tranquilla, è sicuramente il posto giusto per trascorrere una piacevole e rilassante vacanza a Castelmola, nei Colli di Taormina. Casa Blandano è facilmente raggiungibile poiché situata sulla via principale, in pieno centro storico, proprio tra la piazza ed il Comune, ma allo stesso tempo gode di una posizione tranquilla. The room is modern, with a nice bathroom and a terrace, with view on the sea and the mountains. We really enjoyed the place!

Reviewed By Romano1962Appartamenti ritagliati nel corpo della villa, nell quale vivono i proprietari, con ingresso, terrazze e giardino indipendenti. Ordine, arredo moderno e funzionale, pulizia ed accoglienza, sono le caratteristiche che più ci hanno colpito. L'affabilità e la profusione di consigli della proprietaria Caterina, hanno definitivamente reso il soggiorno estremamente piacevole ed i nostri quattro giorni sono volati in un soffio. Per chi vuole conoscere Taormina e dintorni, ma vuole stare fuori dalla confusione e dal traffico (qui abbiamo trovato anche un ampio parcheggio gratuito), questa è la tappa ideale.

Some people say in their reviews that the hotel feels old, but I found everything to be in a very good condition. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, the bathroom felt recently renovated, clean and well equiped. The place is indeed simple, but personally I wouldn't change it for a luxury hotel in downtown Taormina. And the view. The view ! Some tips for travelers: 1. At least in August 2020, there's no breakfast, you can get a small discount for one of the cafés in Castelmola. The balcony is a lovely place to eat something, so it's highly advised to grab a fruit or two the day before and enjoy it in the morning having this spectacular view. 2. We asked for a room number 45 which was at the corner, so we neighbored only one room and had windows facing both the south and the west. You may ask for this room if you want a panoramic wiew, but it does not have AC. It's best to sleep with the front door closed and its curtains shut, as due to the southern exposure the rooms can get hot very quickly in the morning. 3. I got a better deal booking through hotels.com, paid 57€ instead of 80€ which was on other sites. 4. Taverna dell'etna is great for a dinner in Castelmola, but remember to make a reservation for a table with a view as there's only two of them! 5. Right now there's very few tourists in Castelmola, we were probably the only guests in the hotel having it all for us. 6. Contrary to older reviews you get your keys directly at the hotel, NOT at a café in Castelmola. That was the case until one year ago, but the owner has changed since. 7. One night here is not enough
