Family short break

Reviewed By vonnie57

After reading other reviews about this place we were very doubtful about coming but we did as we were bringing our 3yr old Grandson with us and didn't want to upset him and tell him we weren't going seaside, as we had upgraded we could check in at 2pm very quickly done, the apartment as pontins like to call it was very tiny there is no way its fit for 6 people it was only just ok for us, we basically were only really in the apt to sleep, thanks to the decent weather we had we were out and about all day, it was though resonably clean not as bad as some reviews had stated, the site itself is very outdated it needs a complete overhaul. The staff were pleasant enough and as other people had stated the entertainment was good my Grandson at least enjoyed himself, prices in the clubhouse were quite reasonable too. Do i think it was worth paying the money we did for the upgrade absolutely not! Would we come here again that would be a definite NO!

Sandy Glade Holiday Park

The Sandy Glade Holiday Park is easy to reach, just fifteen minutes from the M5, yet puts you right on a great stretch of Somerset coast. You can enjoy the long, sandy beaches of both Berrow and Brean which are a short walk from the park. The beaches are famous for their sand dunes, which kids will love playing on, and you’ll find that Brean Sands is a perfect beach for sunbathing, playing in the sand or paddling into the water. This Burnham-on-Sea Holiday Park has plenty for you to do once you get here. Our adventure playground means that even when you’re not at the beach the kids won’t be bored, and our heated pool is great fun for the whole family. We also have a clubhouse with nightly entertainment and a cafe and takeaway to make your stay even easier.

Thank you Sandy Glades for a brilliant holiday!

A lovely week in 529!

Reviewed By Charlotte C

This was our 1st Lodge holiday and won't be our last as we've already booked to return next year! We stayed in 529 which is a 3 bed platinum with hot tub. It was the cleanest van I've ever stayed in and we were all very impressed. The hot tub was checked twice daily and is emptied and deep cleaned when you leave (we watched one of the maintenance staff 'hoovering' it and wiping it down after our neighbours had left). The site itself is lovely and so peaceful. I was slightly concerned when we arrived as our lodge was right near the entrance but we weren't bothered by noise at all. The sister park is the most lively of the 2 and was quite busy. I wouldn't want to stay there only because the vans seemed quite tightly packed together but it otherwise looked OK. We saw maintenance there every day keeping the communal areas neat and tidy. We used the pool 3 times and it was spotless. We took our youngest swimming for the 1st time and he absolutely loved it! You still need to book a slot to gain entrance but that meant it was never overcrowded so we could enjoy ourselves without worrying about bumping into other swimmers constantly which was a bonus! We only visited Dunes once, the drinks were reasonable and there were lots of people enjoying the kids entertainment. However the arcade seems to be a waste of space as hardly any of the games were working. We saved our money and went to the massive amusements on the pier in Weston instead which were brilliant! The beach is only a short walk from the lodge park and we went most days. Walking through the Dunes was lovely and the beach itself is huge! We went most days and enjoyed dighing with buckets and spades, playing football and attempting to fly kites. Its such a shame that you can't really go in the sea but we didn't let it ruin our beach fun! There were afew little things we did notice about the lodge however....1- the dining chairs were quite rickety and it felt like the legs were about to fall off at times when you sat down on them. 2- the shower in the ensuite was more like a trickle but we had another shower so it wasn't a big problem. 3- as we used the tub every day the water level did fall quite drastically by the end of the week. It could've done with topping up ideally. I am sure maintenance would've done so had we asked bt we didn't so that's on us really. 4- we have a little one and could've done with a gate on the veranda to stop our little escape artist from wandering off and help us relax little more. Most lodges did have a gate but we were just unlucky that ours did not. These were all very minor things however and didn't prevent us from enjoying our wonderful week at Sandy Meadows. Can't wait till May 2023 already!

Great stay - Despite the weather!

Reviewed By Escape277042

A very enjoyable stay at Cheriton Lodge, despite some very British sea-side weather at times! With easy access to the beach and just a short walk into the centre of Burnham, it's a great location for all the nearby attractions. As Keith and Chilly were away on holiday, Sami and James stepped in as hosts for the first time and did an amazing job looking after us both for the weekend! Beautiful house, lovely people and a tasty breakfast - what more could we have asked for!? Maybe a bit of sunshine!
