Faultless

Had a great two night stay here recently. The small hotel is an old stone built lodge house situated about 100 yards from the town centre . The town and surrounding area is very picturesque. Our room and the communal lounges and dining room are decorated impeccably. The bed was very comfortable with good quality linen and the en-suite shower room again is done to a very high standard. The food at breakfast and at dinner was first class and beautifully presented, better than any restaurants I have been to in the last few years. The dinner menu is concise but is the better for this as the attention to detail is very apparent. One of the best places we’ve stayed and reasonably priced.

Delightful Weekend at Glenshieling

Reviewed By 2forcunard

This is 5 star B&B accommodation in the heart of Perthshire. John was on hand to welcome us to his gallery of modern art, with a modern twist on traditional Scottish themes, which also doubles up as a very comfortable guesthouse. The rooms are tastefully decorated and at every turn there is something unusual, wonderful and aesthetically pleasing to the eye. None of this detracts from the restful easiness of the surroundings. It all feels so right. The breakfasts are superb and I was glad to see that our English hosts were providing top quality square sliced ( aka Lorne ) sausage rather than standard links within the full breakfast offering, with emphasis on the "full". My wife's choice of Eggs Royal from the "girls" ( John & Steve's hens) included a healthy portion of locally sourced smoked salmon. When asking John about the art on display, he was only too happy to tell us all about it as well as passing on advice on where purchase it. Look out for the Ross Muir - Rabbie Burns in Adidas Trackie at the front door, the winged mannequin in the lounge, Mary Queen of Scots in the dining room and many many more paintings and sculptures throughout the property. All in all a delightful stay. Coundn't recommend Glenshieling House more highly.

A Beautiful country house hotel in the middle of Perthshire. The hotel is situated on a rise overlooking rolling hills and farmland. Exceptionally friendly service and nothing is too much trouble. The reception rooms are comfortable and decorated with a selection of interesting antiques and are great for whiling away the hours during a wet and windy day, or admiring the views when the sun shines. The bedrooms are sumptuous and it is well worth the small extra for a front facing room. The menu for dinner isn’t overly large and the food is fabulously prepared by an excellent chef and and kitchen team…. Cannot wait to return!

Amazing! From our first impression as we entered until our last step out of the door, Lands of Loyal staff and grounds and hotel were still pleasing! We had a large group who enjoyed their lovely rooms, but I found my group gravitating, naturally, to the generous hall to play games, puzzles, chat, eat delicious desserts, etc. in my many years of travel I have found few places where the design draws people together like this! The dining rooms were beautiful! The staff was over-the-top with kindness. We were well taken care of. Go out if your way to find this gem!

We spent 2 nights at this incredible guest house! We were warmly welcomed by Chris, Meg and Molly with a much needed cup of tea and lovely conversation (and lots of fusses for Molly the dog!) The house is exquisitely decorated and furnished; our room was super comfy and had a beautiful view of the garden. Breakfast was simply amazing and delicious! Lots of choices including vegetarian and vegan options. We never felt rushed and it was great to have a catch up with our lovely hosts both mornings. We cannot wait to stay here again!
