Top 10 hotels in Birmingham, United Kingdom

August 6, 2022 Lashaunda Abraham

The geographical heart of England, Birmingham started life as a sixth- century Anglo-Saxon village. Today, much of this city of over a million dates back to post-WWII redevelopment in the 1950s and 60s. Cutting edge museums and galleries, innovative theaters and excellent shopping have contributed to Birmingham's appeal as a weekend break destination. Don't miss the hopping bars and cafes of Gas Street Basin or the fascinating creatures at the National Sea Life Centre.

Poor customer service.

Reviewed By makgil

Stayed for 1 night for business. Shower was faulty when tried to use it, poorest shower I have ever used in a hotel to put it into context. I notice now generally hotels don’t ask you about your stay when you check out anymore presumably to avoid the conversation and this was no different. Despite this attempt to avoid any feedback I told the lady who I checked out with that the shower was faulty and could she ensure it was fixed before anyone else was given that room. Her only acknowledgment was to smile. No reply. No attempt to action my request. The cooked breakfast was also poor. Think a bit of maintenance in the rooms, a bit more care from the kitchen staff and some customer service training for at least one of your reception staff would be worthwhile.

We didn’t stay here but had a really lovely meal. Pedro, our waiter, was brilliant and the food and wine were wonderful. We’ll definitely come again when staying at the airport the night before a flight, and look at staying here next time as the meal and service were so good.

Won't be using again...

First room hadnt been cleaned. Was offered a downgrade to a double bed with no windows or 2 single beds with a window... I chose the window - the windows do not open at all. I was offered a late check out in compensation, which was no good for me. There's no desk, no wardrobe, no kettle, barely any toilet roll and the rooms are basic. It's "cheaper", but not that cheap! Dissapointed after a long day at work. Thankfully only here for one night

Great location, service, staff and rooms. Good selection of options in resort world if you don't want to eat in the hotel. Can't really get much closer (other than the Moxy) to the NEC so really handy for that. It was a one night stay and everything was as you would expect. Room was very spacious, clean and well equipped. Would happily stay again.

If you need any information as to where to go out and eat or any local information they know their stuff. Rooms really clean and tidy. We had breakfast the next morning which was really nice, all hot and lots to choose from. Definitely recommend.

Beautiful Wedding Venue

We had our wedding at Hornton Grange a few days ago. We cannot praise Laura, Tasmin and the team enough. They dealt with every query we had and supported us in any way that they could. The team and Mahirs as external caterers made sure that everything ran like clockwork on the day. Everything was taken care of exactly as we had arranged. Hornton Grange is a stunning venue and the light in the Lloyd Suite is amazing. Hornton Grange stood out from other venues because you get exclusive use of the whole building, gardens and the 6 bedrooms upstairs. Everyone staying overnight loved their bedrooms. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Hornton Grange as a wedding venue and will definitely be staying at the hotel again. Thank you Laura and team!
