Remote Bhutan first allowed the world a peek inside in 1974. With four millennia of habitation, the Himalayan kingdom offers a trove of archaeological treasures, including many ornate temples and dzong fortresses. Isolation has preserved the heavily Buddhist-influenced culture of the last Shangri-La.

We had a lovely two-night stay at the Le Meridien Thimphu. Everything was first rate - the room, the service, the facility and the food. From the moment we arrived we were treated like honored guests. Deepraj (the manager) and Pema (front desk) greeted us and checked us in. Throughout our stay, they and the other staff addressed us by name. I must say that all of the staff was highly professional and welcoming and they did everything to ensure that our stay was enjoyable. The highlight of checking in was the tray full of snacks and the amazing honey ginger lemongrass tea as we got to our room! The entire facility was top-notch. Our room was spacious and well appointed, the bathroom was luxurious and we had great views of the city and surrounding hillsides. They even left towel swans on our bed! The facility had a pool, sauna and spa. The food was terrific - we particularly enjoyed the evening happy hour menu and the fresh local juices/tonics at breakfast. The hotel was also centrally located and was walkable to just about everything in town. Somehow we felt both pampered as well as comfortable and "at home" during our stay. If you are booking a tour in Bhutan, make sure to request Le Meridien Thimphu with your tour operator. We booked our trip through Bhutan Homestay and they were extremely flexible and accommodating - enabling us to book direct with the hotel and making this upgraded and memorable experience possible.

Le Meridien Paro, Riverfront is the largest five-star hotel in Paro, Bhutan with highest room inventory in the area. The hotel is equipped with some of the finest food and beverages venues in the country as well as most outstanding meeting spaces. ’Latest Recipe’ serves as a restaurant for all-day dining with intriguing local flavours and a selection from our modern a la carte menu. ‘Bamboo Chic’ reflects the spirit of innovation rooted in centuries of Asian tradition and captures the progress towards the modern palate. While the live kitchens in the restaurants are attractions in itself, the beautiful outdoor dining area overlooking the Paro Chhu river that are ideal for barbeques and large-scale parties redirects attention to the grandeur outside the property. Latitude 27° 23’ is a stylish venue inside the property to engage in a relaxed conversation over chilled wines or pleasurable bar creations when the space transforms at night. Aptly named as “Samden Menlam” (Wish-fulfilling Prayer), the altar room or meditation hall located on the fifth floor of Le Meridien Paro, Riverfront and overlooking the stupa outside, will be an tranquil and peaceful retreat for anyone looking for a time to contemplate over matters of mind and soul.
Like many folks, we stayed for two nights at Le Meridien Paro Riverfront as a "staging area" for our climb to the famous Tiger's Nest. The hotel definitely delivered on those expectations. The location and grounds are stunning ... right on a beautiful clear river with majestic mountains as the backdrop. All of the rooms have views of the river and the views are a great way to begin and end your day. The rooms were as expected for this type of property - comfortable with well appointed bathrooms. The staff was professional and attentive as one would expect from a Le Meridien Property. The lobby was a terrific place to relax with wonderful views and a bar with cocktails and snacks. The restaurant had an expansive buffet with varied cuisine options ... I enjoyed the full variety while my traveling partner was actually getting over a stomach issue from the days preceding our visit and she was able to find "milder" foods that her stomach could handle. While the Tiger's Nest climb is accessible to a wide range of ages and fitness levels, it is nonetheless strenuous, so we felt that it was important to stay at a hotel property where we could have a comfortable and enjoyable experience so that we could get the most out of our climb. Le Meridien delivered on those expectations. Our room was quiet and comfortable which enabled a good nights sleep. We were able to relax in the pool / sauna / steam room before and after our climb. Perhaps most outstanding was that the breakfast staff - without us even asking - went above and beyond and packed a container full of breads, muffins and fruit for us to enjoy on our climb! Le Meridien Paro is worth the stay regardless of your activities, but for us, it was a particularly good choice which enabled us to be well rested and prepared for our Tiger's Nest trek as well as providing a great place to relax and celebrate our successful climb!

Terma Linca Resort and Spa is located in Babesa, Thimphu, Bhutan which is only 7 km away from Thimphu city, making it the most ideal base from which to explore the tiny kingdom’s spectacular monasteries, centuries-old street festivals, scenic mountain passes, authentic traditional Bhutanese houses and pristine wilderness, all within easy reach.
We recently visited North east through Nature wings. This was not the first time we had booked our holiday through them. This was our 5th holiday with them. But this time we found that they were more concerned about Customer satisfaction and for that they had kept a separate coordinate for us named Ms. Sabrita ( from Bhutan). She used to call us every evening and ask us whether everything was fine. She made us very comfortable and made our holiday more special by giving timely suggestions about the places to visit and the time to visit. We were highly impressed with her and this initiative of nature wings. The vehicle which they had arranged was amazing and the driver was well versed with the route. The hotels which were booked were mesmerising especially the one at Shillong ( Ri Kunjai ) and at Cherrapunji ( Jiva Resort). Overall this was our best experience with Nature wings so far and will highly recommend everyone to book atleast one holiday with them and make a memorable trip. Regards Suman Singh

This is no doubt a beautiful property around 20-30 min from city's main market. It's quite serene and certainly a good pick for folks, who like nature at its best . My family and I stayed here for 2 days in 3 nearby rooms . Now, here are my two cents Pros- 1. Check-ins were smooth 2. No adjoining rooms/cabins so you do get your privacy Could improve on - Somewhere I see a lag in service standards .. the response time to address guest requests ..bartender not available at the counter .. things like getting the door for the guests(esp when their hands are full).. If/when these small but important wrinkles are ironed out, I believe this property can scale and elevate to intl. standards

A boutique Hotel tucked away from noisy city traffic with wonderful sweeping views of the Thimphu Valley. The suites are modeled on a mixture of traditional Bhutanese style and service with modern design offering fine dining, a bar, relaxing tea-lounge, Wi-Fi broadband internet access, room service, currency exchange and laundry service.
Stay was quite comfortable. Minor issues with food. Food was not as per Indian taste. Waiting time was also bit more. Hotel rooms are quite big and have good features like heater, sitting space, kitchen. It seems that food is an issue in entire Bhutan except Phuentsholing. So we can accept the limitations on hotels.

Kichu Resorts is about excellence nurtured from perhaps the longest standing experience in the service business. Yet, we have come to realize that in the flux of ever changing demands, experience falls far short of the need of the times. Today, as the world transforms, so must we, always keeping abreast of that change. Accepting it as our biggest challenge and confronting it head-on. This is because we owe it to our most valued age-old clients and to those that want to come aboard with us and test new waters. All we have to say is ‘Yes’ you’ll find us there,’ in the way you expect us to be to suit your need for a true break from what consumes your everyday lives, and give you something different – something, the memories of which will act as a salve against every tension that besieges you as you get back to the concrete jungle.Kichu Resorts is thoughtfully placed in the most idyllic settings to cover western and central Bhutan, the most sought destination of visitors worldwide. Our resorts are presently created in Paro, Wangdiphodrang and Bumthang with the explicit operandi of offering you the best of Bhutan. Kichu Resorts is an offspring of International Treks and Tours that pioneered the business of tourism in Nepal almost four decades ago. We have moved on since, relinquishing the plaudits of experience to honing ourselves to the expertise that is called upon by what our clients want today. Change is the call of the time in politics, socio-cultural reawakening and pretty much everything else. The only difference, or rather the deciding factor, is that in the service sector like tourism change is transparent; the tag of accountability hinged directly upon the business. What we can pompously boast about at Kichu Resorts is that we are naturally friendly; we don’t try to please, it is real. We are about a friendly opulence that blends with the surroundings as to be almost non-distinguishable because that is not what we want. We are about getting you lost in lavish rooms, suites, independent cottages where you have at your beck and call disciplined and attentive people with genuine big smiles. In the three picturesque valleys, our resorts merge in as part of the package from where familiarity is the advantage with which you begin your explorations. We have set bars with the ambiance of each valley; elegant mountain dining that is almost ambrosial to the place and pampering spas that will melt away the tensions of the real world. Our restaurants run the gamut of offering s from spicy Bhutanese cuisine to the continental and of course, the secret recipe of the valley itself. We want to attract and welcome people who want the very best and in return want their acclaim as a resort that delivers just that. All we have to say is ‘relax, you’re home’ and all we expect that you will come home more often.A new paradigm – the Kichu Resorts wayKichu Resorts is where the adventure and exploration begins. It is our vision that you are setting out from home into a new dimension of discovery. Tourism, given the time constraints, is today all about seeing as much as possible within the shortest time allowed. It is about having fleetingly been through a nation without actually getting any insight into what could well be called having known a place or its people. In the case of Bhutan, a night halt or a day spent in a district falls far short of what is there to see and absorb. By choice of location, Kyichu resorts offer districts that encapsulate the history of Bhutan in hundreds of temples, time-warped life styles, culture and tradition, environment and more. We specialize in short excursions to day-long trips that give you the opportunity to capture the very essence of the nation in its entirety. And at the end of fruitful day of total immersion, we are there to welcome you home again.
I think this is the longest I have spent with my children and spouse. This place is without a doubt the best place to stay for quarentine because you are staying in separate cottages so it's really safe to go out of your room and enjoy the fresh air.

Ariya is a contemporary hotel which seamlessly blends local heritage and modern comforts within its graceful architecture of clean lines and open spaces. Located at the southern entrance of the nation's capital, Ariya's personally appointed rooms have all the modern amenities for exceptional comfort and luxury. Enjoy our range of facilities, which include banquet, conference hall and lounge, a restaurant offering international and local cuisine, bar, cafe and the Ariya Touch Spa.
The Ariya is a nice, modern and comfortable Hotel that is located near Thimphu city center. Our small group tour had booked this Hotel for 2-nights which gives us enough time to explore the many scenic sites that Thimphu has to offer. As can be seen in the photos, the standard room that we had was spacious, modern, comfortable and clean. Also, the bath was also spacious and clean with a large glass enclosed shower. Highly recommend this Hotel while visiting Thimphu.

The Pema is a chic four-star boutique hotel in Thimphu, Bhutan's capital city. Our 27 rooms are aesthetically designed to balance contemporary decor and conveniences with traditional Bhutanese design. Suites make up more than half of the inventory of rooms. The hotel features two restaurants - Zhego and M Bistro - and the country's first open rooftop bar, as well as a spa and fitness centre.
If safety, comfort, high standard of service and hygiene at affordable rates is what you want then this is the place you should be. As they say a home away from home. Ideally located close to main market yet away from noise. Enjoy Jim or indulge in spa if you like.

I stayed with my family on 26 th April 2019 at this hotel. The View of the river is beautiful, rejuvenating. The Hotel is located at higher altitude along the bank of river Puna Tsang Chu. The suspension bridge and Punakha Dzong is around 5 Km from this place. Breakfast and food is lovely. You can buy from local market by crossing the river using steel bridge near the hotel.
