Our hilltop location gives the front facing room's spectacular panoramic views of Swanage town and bay. Swanage town often holds music festivals, Art weeks and the Swanage Carnival every year. The town is a classic British sea side resort, and the gateway to the Jurassic coast, a world heritage site.

Communal areas are super clean and kitchen for self catering is excellent and fully equipped.. It is often completely booked but we managed a one night Sunday stay in en suite room with lovely view over Swanage bay and town. Great night sleep after 13 mile wandering over the stunning coast and countryside of the Purbecs. YHA was peaceful and super value

Fantastic location, great staff and atmosphere

We camped at YHA Treyarnon, with friends who stayed in one of the bell tents. Having not stayed at a YHA site before, I wasn't sure what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised. The location is amazing ... overlooking Treyarnon Bay. The set up at the site was great, with a limit on bookings that allows a big play area in the middle of the field and you don't feel on top of other guests at all. The staff at Treyarnon really made the holiday for us, including a waiter called Jake who stepped in to provide musical entertainment when the booked act didn't show. It made my 6 year old's holiday as it was his birthday that day and to have the whole site singing happy birthday to him was just magical. The facilities are clean in the main, with toilets suffering occasionally with number of users. Self catering facilities are excellent and there was never a problem using what I wanted. A great stay with perfect hosts.

YHA Boscastle

A lovely spot in a steep-sided valley on the rugged north Cornwall coast, this National Trust-owned rural retreat is on the harbour edge. Here, on your Cornish coast break, you can sit and watch this pretty, bustling fishing village come to life during the day and return to a sleepier pace in the evenings. For a more energetic activity break, you’ll also find excellent surfing and sailing plus miles of coastal footpaths to explore - great for walking holidays. It's self-catering only here, but you can get to know the locals in the nearby pubs while sampling some tasty Cornish food and local ales.

Fantastic location

Wonderful location, near the harbour and with suberb access to coastal paths. Our family room was clean and spacious with a view to the harbour. Boscastle itself was beautiful and interesting. From our accommodation we had a choice of ice-cream shops, cafes and other eateries. My children loved the nearby rock / gem shop and we were intrigued by the witchcraft museum, which was also only a broomstick hop away from the hostel.

YHA Lulworth Cove

Basic but clean & friendly and suited our needs

Reviewed By travel_junkie05

This is a small hostel at the end of a little village with a pub and a playground and a 15min walk by road to Lulworth Cove. (The coastal path takes you up the hill for a lovely view but you can't get to the beach that way anymore as the path has eroded) There are only 7 rooms so it is small and friendly and mostly families with some couples when we were here. Everyone pitches in and it was a very nice atmosphere. The morning staff couldn't be any more helpful. (And thank you for offering to wash our dishes!) Monkey world is 15mins away by car. Swanage Railway is about 35mins and definitely worth a trip up to Corfe. The kitchen is very equipped. A few niggly bits....the photos and description show storage cupboards in the bedrooms but there aren't any so we had to use the 5th bed to lay out our ththings. There aren't any reading lights either so once the kids are in the bed you are torch light only. The soap dispensers in the toilets and bathrooms at the sinks are far too high for any child to reach. And just a tip to the social drinkers....you can only drink alcohol bought on premises!! Certainly would consider coming back though. Thank you for a lovely stay
