The Wicklow Way

This area of Ireland is not to be missed. Very different from anything else we saw. If you start in Roundwood and take highway R759 you will go through some amazing countryside. Stop near Lough Tay and find the trailhead. (There are a few parking areas). You can take a spectacular hike on a beautifully maintained trail (much of which is raised boardwalk) and see amazing views in every direction. Then, drive towards Sally Gap. It's hauntingly beautiful and unique. So worthwhile. You can continue on to Dublin from there. Country roads (narrow) but typical of those in Ireland.

Blackstairs Eco Trails

We give wildlife talks, wildlife photography workshops, kids nature trails and eco treasure hunts! Come and visit The Old Rectory Killedmond where we meet you and provide organic refreshments and talk about the local environment. Afterwards we'll go for a relaxing walk, low hills to no hills, and point out all the amazing flora and fauna we have. Then enjoy afternoon tea in the garden or by the fire and discuss what we've seen. Go wild in the Blackstairs!

Mary's cabins are fabulous places to stay with comfort and beauty at their hear. She runs the place with a light touch but a big heart. And her sourdough is fabulous too!
