Stanton Hall Gardens and Nursery

Stanton Hall is situated west of Morpeth in Englands northern county, Northumberland. A small family run business, it offer something different from the larger garden centres. The gardens here at Stanton Hall have evolved as the business expanded over 30 years to the mature and wide-range of planting that we have today. Each time more area has been opened up to stage plants for sale, separate areas of gardens have been created. Our gardens show what can be achieved with the plants that we sell in the Nursery. They also are set out to give ideas about colour, grouping and mixtures of shrubs, perennials, herbs and general planting structures. The gardens are best from May onwards and are free to visit.

Loved the very different aspects of the hall, castle and quarry garden. All very different and great value as your ticket gives you access to all,Kyle was really helpful and knowledgeable when we first arrived, thank you. The tea room served excellent cheese scones and coffee, while the gift shop was really well set out with English Heritage wines to taste before buying. All staff were lovely, my highlight was the quarry garden.

Howick Hall Gardens

The gardens are very beautiful especially the sensory garden, the bog garden and the formal gardens at the rear of the house. The tearoom is very grand and the service was excellent. We enjoyed a gluten free cake each and were impressed by the selection of gluten free cakes available. The only slight disappointment was that the house is not open to the public, which were not aware of until we had already paid and entered the grounds. Other than that a great day out especially for anyone with an interest in horticulture.
