The Pont Canal is a bridge over the Tarn River. it dates from the time of Napoleon and carries canal boats over the Tarn into the port of Moissac. I had the pleasure of crossing it in a boat and lots of tourists were there to see us cross the river on a bridge in a boat. It is kind of a surreal experience to glide across seeing the river below you. If you happen to be in Moissac on a nice day, it is well worth walking up the canal and seeing the bridge and adjoining locks in action.

Originaly the chapel of the castle, the church of Lachapelle is part of the body of the chateau built in the 11th century. It became the parish church in the 15th century. The visitor is always surprised by the baroque style of the interior, built in 1776 by Maraignon Champaigne at the request of the abbes Goulard, two brothers who where vicar and curate of the parish. The interior architecture contains wood moulding both painted and guilded. A triple range of arcades carrying two galleries, convex and concave, fills the rear of the church and gives it the feeling of an italian theatre. Your visit will allow you to admire this recently restored unique gem.
