We visited sainte mere eglise on our battlefield tour..a wonderful little village with loads of history and character. The church is beautiful although numerous bullet and she'll damage to the exterior and some inside to..looking up to the spire you see the American parachutists steel hanging down on his caught parachute. The airborne museum is also a must see site..real Waco glider and DC3 are under cover and look great...lots of artefacts to see...visit the operation Neptune gallery it is amazing. Feel the vibration and sensation of being in a DC3 before jumping. Some lovely cafes and restaurants compliment the visit.

The church is a must-see while touring the area. One of two stained glass windows depicts paratroopers on either side of the Virgin Mary. Another window shows Saint Michael, the patron saint of paratroopers, with inset shields of various Allied military units that fought in or near the village.

The site where Lt. Winters and members of Easy Company took out 4 German 105s. To see this field and trenches brings to reality what these men did.

Eglise Paroissiale Saint-Pierre

Our group celebrated a Mass in this church. It was hard to concentrate on the Mass with all the old statues and artifacts around to look at. We were there in Oct., so much less of a crowd, but enough people. It was worth the visit to be sure.

Tour du Nord

Reviewed By DanW440 - Portland, United States

One of the towers that affords an awesome view out to sea, the Tour du Nord, is one of the many sections of Mont-Saint-Michel not to miss. Climb the stairs, walk around the tower and join the seagulls in watching the tide come in or go out.
