Just got back from pork pie making course with Jacqui and Carole , what a delightful day , I would thoroughly recommend this course a really good mix of a relaxed enjoyable atmosphere combined with excellent teaching techniques and spot on technical knowledge , exactly what I was looking for . Very good basic principles and lots of tips that can only be given by someone who has years of experience in their subject . Very easy to find as although the setting seems remote in a converted barn on a Yorkshire hillside which itself is a thing of beauty it is an easy drive form the M1. Fabulous lunch very enjoyable experience.

Sheffield Brewery

Wow. What an experience. I had not realised how little I knew about beer. Or the range of things needed to produce the different tastes and textures. It starts with what is in the water, moves past what temperature you use, and finishes with the variations of yeast available. Throw in some hops and grains and you have the mixture for a perfect afternoon.

Locksley Distilling Co. Ltd.

Join us for Sheffield’s only hands-on gin making experience using mini stills and real botanicals. Here at Locksley Distilling we are super excited that we can now open our distillery up to the world and welcome you inside to witness, taste and immerse yourself in all of our magic! Visit us in the heart of Sheffield at the breath-taking Portland Works, a 140 year old grade 2*listed cutlery factory where stainless steel was born, and discover how our small yet dedicated team have been creating, producing and inspiring since the start of 2015. We know we're never going to be the biggest distillery but we'll always aspire to be the best and we love nothing more than sharing our passion with our fellow artisan drinks enthusiasts!

Had a great afternoon learning all about my favourite gin with Joe. He explained the history, processes and gave us a great tour of the distillery all whilst letting us taste all the gin. Then we got to go to gin school and make our own gin. It was a really fun experience and great to see how quickly you can distill and try the gin to see if you've got a nice flavour - plus the gin I made is great! We left with bottles of gin to give away as gifts but ended up keeping for ourselves in the end as they were too nice. As an added bonus, we got engaged just before the tour so now will always associate Sir Robin gin with happy memories and will definitely have to get some for the wedding!

Called in for a quick pint and nearly missed the train home, working our way through the beers ! Lovely cosy pub, nice decor with a decent selection of beers. The Jewels in the Crown though were Melanie and Tracy behind the bar. No matter how busy it got, there was never a wait for a fresh pint.Talk to Tracy nicely and she'll russell you up a great chip butty too! Landlord, give these ladies a pay rise.

Whenever we are down Ecclesall Road we end up in here. Always great beers, always seen nothing but friendly helpful bar staff and the customers tend to be more sensible than in other nearby bars. Roll on the summer and sitting outside again.

Fantastic beers, amazing prices, great pizza (Thursday night), excellent gin bar and brilliant staff. This is a proper well cared for and looked after local that should be a proper destination with such reasonable prices. I remember the days when it was a total dive it’s amazing what a bit of love and care can do for a place and now it’s always busy. Great place to have nearby.

The Wisewood Inn

Since re-opening our doors in October 2015, relaunching a pub that had struggled for at least ten years under various pubco ownerships, we have received lots of positive feedback and support from the community and it is an honour to have won CAMRA Pub Of The Month twice. We offer a selection of 5 cask and 8 keg pumps serving great beers from far and wide, including our very own Loxley Brewery. Homemade food is served daily between 12pm-9pm (Sundays 12pm-8pm). All food is cooked from fresh and with love. Our Sunday Roasts are outstanding and we strongly advise booking a table as early as possible. The ‘Cellar Bar’ is the perfect place to grab a pint in the winter months with the real log fire and candlelight. In the summer months, our roller blinds are opened up on to one of the largest beer gardens in Sheffield and the spectacular views of the Loxley Valley surround. The Cellar Bar is available for a function of any kind – we cater for everyone! We look forward to seeing you...
