Two friends and I planned this very last minute but it turned out to be a real highlight for us. Due to the current situation we were fortunate enough to have the whole place to ourselves but Sadan, the owner made just as much if not more of an effort to make this an amazing experience for us. The view from his first tasting room is incredible and the wine was free flowing while he shared facts about his craft and his life stories which were fascinating. You could tell he was passionate about wine! We ended up staying late talking, enjoying wine (one might say too much as it was as much as you can drink) and lovely cheese, ham and bread to go with it! Sehr empfehlenswert.

Rak Winery

Winery Rak focuses on the production of grapes and wine in Dubrava, near Šibenik, under a specific climate in the Dalmatian area, and we take our pride in the cultivation and production of three autochthonous wine sorts: Babić, Debit and Maraština and from Babić grapes we also produce opolo and rose. Viticulture is long family tradition, which started in 1960-s, and we maintain the tradition today. Honoring the tradition, as our inherited love for vineyards and wines, we use the modern technology and equipment, keeping up with modern standards in the fields of grapevine cultivation and quality wine production. Our family business includes a tasting room, where you can taste our wines and eat homemade culinary specialties! See you in Winery Rak!

Vunetovo Craft Beer

Reviewed By Marko_Oz86 - Zagreb, Croatia

Almost hidden in the neverending string of various beach bars, rent-a-whatevers and other things that dot the coastline around the town of Hvar, the place can only be described as a Mediterranean beer garden, combining the beer made by the owners themselves - and Anna is an excellent brewer - with traditional snacks and, here and there, dishes. The APA made by them was flawless and in very good shape, something you do NOT run into frequently while island hopping, and the other taps were filled by classically nice Zmajska Pivovara beers, as this "semi-"season didn't give them impetus enough to brew more different things. The prices are as expected when it comes to Hvar, but unlike a lot of places (when it comes to beer), you get what you pay for! Definitely a must-visit if you're in Hvar - and if you're in, say, Amphora, and love beer, there's no excuse not to go here!

We stopped at the winery on a random day in the week after tourist season, without a reservation and without any expectations. What happened next was one of the magical evenings you always dream about when you’re somewhere on a vacation and want to experience something authentic and special. Marina and her brother invited us inside their beautiful place and even though they were busy during harvest season gave us their full attention and all the delicious wine to taste. Marina is a special person paying attention to every detail and she is very professional and friendly. The whole family business is run with love to their wine and their customers and it truly shows. If you love wine or just like to experience the local atmosphere and great hospitable people you don’t want to miss this place!

Marlais Winery

Peljesac Peninsula , a place where sun, sea and stone create a perfect home for Plavac Mali , indigenous Dalmatian variety that brings out the best from the "barren land" and gives us "divine nectar." Marlais family, that drags roots from France, settled on the peninsula in the early 17th century, bringing with them the knowledge that every Frenchman has in its blood - how to make good wine.

Anton gave us a tour of the facility and we got to see how the wine goes from harvest to bottling at the this family owned establishment. Anton was so personable and proud of his product. We had the 3 wine tasting menu with 1 white and 2 reds. All were excellent. If I could figure out a way to ship them to the US I would have bought a few cases. The carob Sherry was insanely good. I definitely recommend a stop at this winery.

We are so glad we booked this experience in advance. I don't think we would ever think back on our time in Croatia without remembering the time we spent at this winery as we had the best experience that was far beyond our expectations. This family have a huge history here and we loved learning all about it. Now we have a new appreciation for our wine in New Zealand as the forerunner to introduce wines to our country came from the Nobilo family, here in Lombardy. We have had many winery tours, this personalised one was the best. It was such a reasonable cost for delicious and generous wines and food.
