We did a Terceira island day trip with Pristine Azores. We had an outstanding time, and Filipe was a very gracious and warm host. We highly recommend them without any reservations. We had them pick us up at the airport so we could start our trip with an island overview tour (and save the cost of transport to our hotel in Angra). That was a mistake on our part. We were jet lagged beyond belief. Filipe took us for some coffee, and that jolted us awake for a bit, but we got ugly tired later in the day...more on that later, and totally our fault. It was just me and my wife on the tour, which was wonderful. We started by seeing the sights in Praia, then went up back roads to the windmills, then around the island, through Biscoitos. Terceira weather is notoriously fickle, and our tour day was no exception. It was cold and rainy in the mountains, and we couldn't see anything from the viewpoints in the morning, but it was still exhilarating and a lot of fun. Filipe took us to a winery in Biscoitos, which was outstanding. We sampled a number of Azorean wines, and bought a bottle for later. We then went to a local restaurant, and had a delicious typical Azorean meal, with more wine. After great food and more wine and a comfortable vehicle ride, we were spent. We were not good company for the next hour or two...sleeping between stops, but when we were awake, we saw amazing vistas of the island and over the ocean, and Filipe showed us local spots we'd never have found on our own. As the weather cleared, the island just got better and more beautiful. Filipe was really well versed on the local flora and fauna and he was the consummate host. We ended up on Monte Brasil. Late in the afternoon, Filipe dropped us at our hotel and we went immediately to bed. It was really a spectacular day, and you should do a tour with Pristine Azores. But next time, we'd choose not to do it on our first day...totally our overestimation of our capabilities to overcome jet lag.

Start the day sight seeing, we bring you to the most important look-out places, we go off road to see some gorgeous sites, then we bring you to a beautiful location where you will have lunch in a relax atmosphere, where you can walk around enjoying a glass of wine or a beer if you like to while we prepare your food, after lunch we continue seeing beautiful places in the Island going to a milking barn where we visit the entire operation, get to interact with the veal's (little cafes), taste the milk and some local cheeses, then we go to a factory where you can see the different processes of making, cheese, milk, yogurt, iced cream, packing of beef, and of course if you like we go have the best iced cream in the Island.

We live here on Terceira temporarily with the US military so we’ve seen a lot of the island on our own. But it was on of our guys last weekends and one guy hadn’t been here very long. This trip was absolutely everything we could have asked for. The island is beautiful and the food and wine and moonshine was delicious!! Our tour guide was so funny and made the tour! Highly recommend even if you live here it was nice to be able to drink and not worry about driving.

The best way hands down to learn about this amazing island is to book the full day tour with Antonio. He is so knowledgeable and professional. It only took until lunch time, to realize that we wanted to extend our time with him, so we scheduled 2 more days of tours that he customized listening to our interests. Bonuses: photography tips that he shares along the way, his fantastic stories, the company van is comfortable and luxurious, lunch at local places, many recommendations. We feel like we made a true friend on the island. I highly recommend any tour with Antonio.

My parents and I spent a marvelous day in February 2020 touring Terceira Island with one of the most informative, outgoing and welcoming tour guide I have ever encountered VitorAguiar([email protected]). He provide an extensive tour around the island and ensured that all the locations we visited and activities did were geared to our needs. The tour started when he picked us up at our hotel and ended in the evening when he dropped us off at the hotel. Duuring the tour he went above and beyond our expectations. He even brought us to his house where he and his wife introduced us to the local porto wine. After we expressed an interest in buying some wine he drove us to a supermarket where we stocked up on some wonderful wine at an inexpensive price. To this day my father enjoy Portuguese wine with his meals . Vitor's private tour around the island was a really enjoyable welcome to Terciera. It is definitely value for the price.

If you are in Terceira and like a bit of adventure and enjoy off the beaten track activities I highly recommend you to do this tour with Juca. Juca is very knowledgable of the hidden gems on the island and passionate about his work. Also, he makes sure you are safe while visiting the caves. Last but not least, he is passionate about photography and thus, he will take take some really nice shots of you. This was one of the best tours have done so far!

Terceira Island, as volcanic origin presenting their morphological diversity, but maintaining some common geological traits. Its origin is associated with several volcanic eruptions, that occurred in the Alpine Orogeny; that remounts to the Tertiary Age to the present days, leaving an outstanding speleological heritage. So, we wish to share these several beautiful caves not open to the public (no man hand). The only 2 places that are open to public is Volcano Algar do Carvão and Christmas Cave. This places are only open in winter on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. In summer every day is open. They are also closed on expecial occasions as Christmas days or special date.

This was our first time going to Terceira and Juca was recommended to us by a co-worker who had been two weeks prior. They spoke very highly of him. We spent three days with him on a private tour and it was everything we could imagine and more. Juca picked us up each day at our hotel and dropped us off at the end of the day. He took us to see things you will not go to on a bus tour. Juca knows this island inside out. He shared with us history and traditional foods and took us to some amazing local restaurants. You know by the way he is recieved and that you are recieved by the locals that he is well respected and they make you feel as though they have known you for years. You tell him what you are looking for as well as the pace you would like to take and he will make it happen. If you want amazing experiences and amazing views and pictures Juca will not disappoint. If we return to Terceira again we will definitely be contacting Juca. 10/10 and then some.
