I booked with Simon and from the beginning I was incredibly impressed. I wanted a tailored experience and he was very accommodating booking me two gorilla permits. He was incredibly accommodating as I booked this quite last minute due to covid. The guide was amazing, very well connected and professional. I was so impressed and loved the trip so much I extended a further 5 days to include Queen Elizabeth NP, Kibale NP, another gorilla day and Mbamba swamp. Simon organised a range of activities that were fantastic and really enjoyable. The guides took the time to learn what I was interested in and ensured that was emphasised. They really went completely above and beyond. I highly, highly recommend. The value for money is outstanding. Just book with him, you won't regret!

My wife and I traveled twice with Nsubuga for three weeks. For the first time, the goal was to visit safaris and less accessible parts of the country. second, gorilla and safari tours. so far we have not had a better guide on any trip. Before we arrived, Nsubuga and I had all agreed via email. And everything was exactly as we agreed. throughout the trip he took care of our safety as if we were part of his family. I also met his family and he is really phenomenal. is very fair and trustworthy. he has a great deal of knowledge and is dedicated to his work. We transported almost all national parks with us, the source of the Nile River, rafting on the Nile, saw gorillas, stopped at the Karamyong people, met people who had never seen a white man, rode over Bunyoni Lake, visited pygmy peoples, visited the Sese islands, once were all over Rwanda and many other places in Uganda. all this with Nsubuga.

Your 1 day river Nile white water rafting adventure takes you to the source of river Nile – the world’s longest river found in Jinja. The beginning of the Nile at the Rippon falls, offers the ideal environment for a satiating grade 1 – grade 5 white water rafting experience. Depending on one’s experience and prowess, rafting can be done in; fast moving waters with riffles and small waves, or in straight-forward rapids with wide clear channels which are evident without scouting, or in rapids with moderate irregular waves which may be difficult to avoid and which can swamp an open canoe, or in intense, powerful but predictable rapids requiring precise boat handling in turbulent waters, or in extremely long, obstructed and violent rapids which expose a rafter to added risk.

Had such an incredible time on our 12 day safari around Uganda with Primate World Safaris. Jackson took care of all our arrangements and promptly and helpfully answered our questions before we confirmed our booking. We found Primate World Safaris through Responsible Travel and were told that they are the best in Uganda for ensuring responsible visits to national parks and respect for wildlife. We were picked up from the airport by our guide, Alex Gabiito, and our adventure started. Our itinerary was busy and varied maximising our time in Uganda. It included: - an exhilerating experience white water rafting on the Nile; - a visit to Murchison Falls NP to view the breathtaking and explosive waterfall, as well as spotting elephants, lions, various antelope, buffalo, various exotic birds and monkeys in the park; - trekking chimpanzees in Kibale forest; - spotting leopards, crocodiles, hippos, lots of elephants, zebras, giraffes, warthogs and numerous birds in Queen Elizabeth NP and Lake Mburo NP; - trekking the mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest; - meeting local communities and conservationists to hear about their amazing work preserving Uganda's wildlife. Our guide, Alex, was very knowledgeable and experienced and is highly recommended, especially if you're a bird enthusiast (he was nominated Uganda's best bird guide a couple of years' ago). He made sure that we saw and experienced as much as we could in the time we had. We felt safe and looked after at all times. The accommodation we stayed in far exceeded our expectations and made sure we were rested enough for our jam-packed itinerary. Uganda is stunning and has so much to offer - I can't imagine anywhere else that has such a high concentration of amazing wildlife and scenery. If you want an authentic and responsible safari trip to Uganda, choose Primate World Safaris.

Where do I begin?! What am amazing experience and absolute pleasure working with this company. I began my research well in advance, pricing out itineraries and different options, etc. I communicated with this particular company for about a month before committing. All communication was very clear, and quite informative and helpful. My point person in all communication was named Merab, and he was fantastic. He presented me with several package ideas, and worked with me to create a custom trip. He was very patient, answering each and every question I had. I am so pleased I chose Gorilla Explorers! We could not have been happier! Our adventure began on a Monday morning when we were picked up in Kampala, at 7:30am just as scheduled. They were very accommodating, as we were staying in an orphanage located in a tough area to reach and not a hotel in the main city. Our guides were friendly, funny and very well informed. Both were English speaking, and happy to answer any and all questions we had about the areas we drove through, the animals, the crops and geography! Bottled water was included in the Jeep. We chose “mid range” lodge accommodations, which were spectacular. We had views of the entire Bwindi Impenetrable Forest at the first, and of Queen Elizabeth National Park at the last! We could not have asked for more! I was most pleased with the last lodge we stayed at before returning to Kampala, called the Enganzi Lodge, which overlooked Queen Elizabeth AND had a pool! In my opinion, each of the lodges we stayed was better than anticipated for being titled “mid-range.” All provided full board and meals (dinner with a packed lunch for the following day), hot water showers and private en suite bathrooms. All of the beds were protected with mosquito netting. Wi-Fi in all was restricted to the lobby/reception areas, and spotty at times.. But with the beautiful nature surrounding us, this was in no way a deal breaker! I was provided an itinerary before we left the US, and had a printed copy with me to follow along as we traveled. We stayed true to the itinerary, and almost always on schedule. Each stop, including the equator line and our lunch destination in Mbarara on day one, in addition to a quick restroom stop at a beautiful scenic overlook, were great! The gorilla trekking experience and the game drive in Queen Elizabeth Park were two of the greatest and most amazing experiences of my life, to date! While searching for gorillas, porters can be hired for the day (to help carry your backpack or just to help climb and hike). You are also provided with a walking stick, and given a certificate at the end of the day complete with the name of the family of gorillas you saw! We had a private boat tour of the Kazinga channel (between Lake Edward and Lake George) during which we encountered elephants, hippos and an amazing assortment of the most interesting and beautiful birds. Those guides too were very well informed! On our last day, we stopped at Lake Mburo National Park on the way back to Kampala to see the zebras! The only animals we didn't get to see were giraffes, which are located in another national park that was not feasible with our itinerary. Next trip! Overall, this was an amazing experience, and much of that can be attributed to this company and our guides. It may take some saving, as the cost is not cheap, but certainly it is worth every penny! This is a trust worthy company, and I would recommend without hesitation to any US tourist wanting to experience the beautiful Pearl of Africa! Recommended items to bring on your adventure include: binoculars, camera, hand wipes for the dusty jeep ride, sunglasses, light weight rain jacket (in case), comfortable hiking boots with ankle support, permethrin treated hiking clothing and your malaria pills! Ugandan shillings are also helpful to have on hand for tipping purposes (example: hotel/lodge staff, tour and boat guides and for stops along the way if you'd like to try the greatest Ugandan beer, the Nile Special)!

It was such a fun experience that it made me crave more time in the pearl of Africa's wilderness.I had a great time at the top of the greatest waterfall and i also enjoyed the boat cruise at the Albert Nile in Murchison falls National Park. We were also able to visit the Karamajongs in Nakapelimoru traditional village in Kotido district. We got to know how these people do their daily activities and we were also able to join them for example in dancing. The safari was extraordinary and I believe anyone would want in on the fun too.
