THE RESORT Resort Santa Maria is located directly on the beach in front of the submerged road Punica, in the center of the lagoon, in the natural reserve "Isole delle Stagnone of Marsala ". Quiet area surrounded by nature in between the vineyards, the sea, the salt pans and the wind- mills . The island of Mozia is located right in front of the Resort . This recently built Resort, has 14 rooms in hotel and 17 indipendent apartments of various types, tastefully furnished and equipped with all amenities . Guests can relax in the pool or, few steps away, directly by the sea where you can practice kitesurf and windsurf as well as rent bikes, canoes and sup. The Resort offers free use of the swimming pool for adults and children, private parking (unattended), green area and children's playground area. Excellent solution also for those who want to stay near the airport of Trapani-Birgi which is only 5 minutes drive away.
Kitesurfing heaven
Reviewed By RollingseasExcellent place to stay for kitesurfing. Our apartment overlooked the lagoon so that you could keep an eye on who was out and what the wind was up to. The room was big and had a sink, oven and decent sized fridge and freezer. I got the feeling that they ought to collect all of the crockery and glasses in all of the apartments and redistribute them. As we had hundreds of side plates and only one big one. No wine glasses but two sieves! We brought our own sharp knife as these are always lacking but I suppose I like to do more cooking than most other people. Unfortunately it was August so we were surrounded by screaming children on the terrace outside our apartment door and below our balcony. But thankfully they spent most of the day in the pool by the hotel so it was only the morning and evening which was deafening. There are three good bars on the beachfront which make very pleasant spots for sundowners. And two places that serve food if you wish to eat out. Conveniently placed between Trapani and Marsala so there is plenty to do on non wind days. There is quite a lot of weed in the lagoon so if you crash when kiting you have to be careful to try to get it off you as there is something living in it that can sometimes cause a nasty sting. But in 10 days of being in the water, and I probably spent more time in the water than most, I only got three stings. These leave a red rash like a small jellyfish. And take a couple of weeks to fade but bring some mosquito bite cream to put on after just in case. The staff at the resort were excellent in particular one of the boys on the evening reception desk. He lives in Marsala and so knows all of the best restaurants if you want to eat out. He really went out of his way ringing round for us on a busy night in August. Unfortunately though I don’t know his name but just look for a happy face and it will probably be him.

Upon arrival, we were immediately upgraded to a large 2 bedroom ocean view apartment because we were not visiting Marsala during peak tourist season (our trip was from March 21 - April 12). Our breakfast was delicious and brought to our door every morning by the charming Nellie always greeting us with a smile and warm greetings. The Residence is in a very nice neighborhood within walking distance to a grocery store, pharmacy and bakery and the old city center and to the ocean. The facilities were very clean and safe with the added plus of an enclosed courtyard to park our rental car. We frequented da Pino Trattoria many times and obviously it became our favorite restaurant in Marsala as frequented by the local residents. The vineyards and the archeological ruins at such a close proximity was an added plus!!

Reviewed By astecaThis is a fantastic 2 bedroom apartment located in the heart of historic Marsala. Very clean and confortable...nice kitchen, veranda. The owner was also very nice and helpful. We had place to park the car on the street - not reserved for us, but there was always a free space. It would be ideal for a long stay.

Chill place close to Kitesurfing spots.
Reviewed By Kasia WWe trevelled for kitesurfing and sightseeing as well. That place was good for both. Close to Marsala and Trapani. From Torre Lupa you can rich restaurants, bars and supermarket by foot. The kitesurfing spot is 30min by foot or 5min by car. We had the apartment on first floor. Full of space, big bathroom, one balcony and one big terrace. Whole property is like a big garden filled with beautiful flowers. The pool is clean. I was there after the high season. It was a very chill place. Pool was like my private. Rooms had aircondition. Kitchen was equipted enought. I recomand that pace and hope to visit in the future.

Spacious and Tidy
Reviewed By famishedtravellerWe stayed for one night in a one bedroom apartment which was very spacious, tidy and well equipped. The little ocean view from the glassed in balcony/sunroom/laundry was a little treat. Parking spots are easy to find on the street below. There are several small shops close by for essentials and its a very non taxing walk into the main town where there are plenty of restaurants. The host is more than happy to give great advice about places to eat, things to do and places to go and has also set up a really helpful wall of information with all the above on it.
