We met our guide outside of Kingsbury Hotel. We were delayed, he at time. We like! We drove in a comfortable car through town and we got a slightly idea of the size of the town and how crowdy the town is. We also pass the impressing new parliament building placed in a lake. On our way to Galle we asked about Sri Lanka and how it is to live here, about education and health systems and Samir had good answers on all our questions. We learned a lot and want to visit your beautiful country again. We were taken for a boat ride on a lake with mangrove trees, boards and animals, a temple and fish spa, all of this are new experiments. The boat guide was awesome and spotted animals from long distance. We had tasty and good local lunch at Rampart Hotel. Caused by heavy rain we chosed to skip the rest of the program for our tour. Samir was creative and replaced it with a visit the Marine Museum in Galle and a walk on the fortress wall. Samir is a service minded, polite and skilled guide, he made our tour fun and learning. We will choose to engage him for another tour if we come back sometime. And we will recommend him for sure. Regards Annbjørg Sommersæter and Svein Gihle Karlsen Actually date was december 2018

Traveling in Sri Lanka with me and my family is one of the best experiences of my life. We chose Titan Tours Lanka for that trip. We chose it because a friend of mine recommended it. We got to experience their excellent service for 6 days. Lakmal spent those few days with us. Those few days he was a member of our family. He is a brilliant tour guide who can be recommended to any traveler in this world. He managed his time very well and helped us to experience the beauty of Sri Lanka. From all my experience, Titan Tours SL is one of the best travel agencies in Sri Lanka.

I spent an enjoyable 1/2 day touring Colombo with Kavi on a Ceylon Capital Tour by Tuk Tuk.  I was lucky to do the tour on a Sunday as there wasn't much traffic and the tour ran well ahead of schedule because of this.  I chose to take a tour with this company as the meeting point was my hotel - there was great communication in advance to confirm the meeting time and hotel details.  The tour covered the must-see sights around Colombo and I particularly enjoyed sampling some street food, drinking coconut water, stopping at a juice bar (the avocado juice was amazing), trying authentic Sri Lankan food for lunch, and getting a chance to do a tea tasting.  My favorite stop had to be the walk through of the fruit and veg market - it was extremely busy but Kavi did well to navigate through it.  I learned a lot about Colombo on the tour. I really appreciated Kavi taking photos along the way and sharing them with me after the tour. There are many tuk tuk tours available to choose from in Colombo - I would high recommend booking with Kavi.

Ashiq Aswar is a superb tour guide! Him and Rizni took my family around on a tour of Colombo that included shopping and then a tour of the outskirts of a bee farm, spice gardens a private tour visiting and riding elephants. We had a great lunch in a clean and air-conditioned restaurant. The van was clean and comfortable. They picked us up and dropped us back. This trip was actually in the early part of last year in spring, but the calendar on Trip Advisor only goes back to summer of last year. They were very attentive, very caring and personable. I would highly recommend Ashiq and Kingfisher tours to anyone visiting Colombo, Sri Lanka ????????

8. The Tea Tale of Srilanka

Mahaweli Tours & Holidays

Tea production is one of the main sources of foreign exchange for Sri Lanka (formerly called Ceylon). In 1824 a tea plant was brought(smuggled) to Ceylon by the British from China and was planted in the Royal Botanical Gardensin Peradeniya for non-commercial purposes. n 1867, James Taylor marked the birth of the tea industry in Ceylon by starting a tea plantation in the Loolecondera ( Pronounced Lul-Ka(n)dura in Sinhala -ලූල් කඳුර ) estate in Kandy in 1867. He was only 17 when he came to Loolkandura, Sri Lanka. The original tea plantation was just 19 acres. In 1872 Taylor began operating a fully equipped tea factory on the grounds of the Loolkandura estate and that year the first sale of Loolecondra tea (Loolkandura) was made in Kandy. With this tour, witness this rich heritage by visiting tea estates, as well as working tea factories and get hands-on experience in the art of tea making.

The hike to Knuckles Mountain range was well organised by Mahaweli Tours. We were provided with a good guide who knew his way about well and we felt safe throughout the trek. We were also looked after well and enjoyed the experience. There was fun and entertainment and chatter to keep us motivated to go up the mountains and we got to experience a nice cold waterfall bath too! 5 stars to both Prasad and Ajith for providing us with this experience.
