Ivy was amazing! So knowledgeable about everything in the market and she really took the time to explain what everything was. I have lived here for 11 years and still learned a lot! The cooking class was wonderful, like cooking with family. I highly recommend this class as a way to get an authentic Taiwanese experience. You can choose from over 60 Taiwanese dishes and she will make alterations to the recipes to suit vegetarian and others. We made an onion pancake, vegetarian hot and sour soup and shrimp skewers on bamboo shoots. They were all delicious! She even gives you recipes to take home! I will be telling everyone I know to do this with any visitors they have to Taiwan. I know I will do it again with my next visitors.

Good school, good location. Stayed in an apartment provided by the school which was also very good and just a few minutes walk from the school. Lots of restaurants, a supermarket and a lively night market just around the corner. Lots than 50m to the entrance of a metro station and bus stop. So this is a perfect place to lean Mandarin. They teach both simplified and traditional characters whichever you prefer.

The host was very friendly and patient in conducting the cooking class, and we had lots of fun with the hands-on making of xiao long bao. She was also very helpful in introducing us to the different kinds of tea unique to Taiwan with an elaborate tea ceremony appreciation, and we enjoyed ourselves! Highly recommended for couples and also travelling individuals who are interested to try their hand at learning about Taiwan’s culinary and tea culture. It was a fruitful and enjoyable 4 hours spent!
