The eglise Notre Damn is a magnificent church, rebuilt following the damage it suffered during the war. The exterior architecture is superb and is equaled by the ornate decoration inside.

Basilique Notre Dame de Boulogne-sur-Mer

For 160 years, the Notre-Dame basilica has dominated the city with its vertiginous dome. It succeeds the medieval cathedral, destroyed in 1798, and owes its existence to a single man, Father Haffreingue. This modest priest, and amateur architect, devoted his life to the revival of a sanctuary dedicated to the Virgin Nautoniere, guardian figure of the city since the 7th century. Saint-Paul-de-Londres, Saint-Pierre de Rome and Saint-Louis des Invalides were his sources of inspiration.
