Top 10 Central European food in Poznan, Greater Poland Province, Poland

January 29, 2020 Almeta Stockton

Reviews on Central European food in Poznan, Greater Poland Province, Poland. Poznan was once the capital of Poland and is still the capital of the Wielkopolska region. Poznan lies midway between Berlin and Warsaw, which has helped make it an important town for centuries. Badly damaged in World War II, the city (especially its Old Town) has been beautifully restored. The huge Old Town Square (Stary Rynek) is one of Europe’s nicest, and is lined by fabulous historic attractions, restaurants and nightlife. The Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul is Poland’s oldest cathedral.

Ate here for breakfast with my wife. Sign at the door says wait to be seated. After 10mins someone finally asked if we wanted to be seated even though there was plenty of space. The staff where friendly and polite, and very helpful when we asked about the dishes. After ordering I was surprised at the 15 min wait for tea and coffee to be brought to us, although the food was delivered shortly after. Now the food was lovely and we would recommend eating here if you were not in a hurry!Sorry for the inconvenience. Especially for waiting for the waiter. The waiting time on weekends is longer, because of the large number of guests. Greetings.

Both were excellent, well cooked and served in large portions. We rounded off an enjoyable meal with an apple pie. The service was very good and the overall cost very reasonable given both the quality and size of the portions

However, we were again positively surprised to receive additionally in-between each course a small, nice looking and delicious starter. Nevertheless, the real surprise came from the sort of modern, highest quality and really tasty superb main courses. We went for a selection of various wines (being served by individual glases). Worth trying it!

The wine list offers positions that schould be removed from the menu long time ago, all highly priced. One cannot find anything drinkable at resonable price in the wine list. As some people living next door commented in humorous way: "this restaurant has pretty fresh oysters. Only one person died this year"
