Iliastra is moving towards establishing a second cultural centre in Chios (along with Citrus). A pleasant coffee house during the day, it turns to an open air music or cinema stage in the evenings. We enjoyed there 3 hours of popular Greek music there, with the audience singing along with the performers ans spontaneously dancing to their tunes. When we left past midnight the show still went on. Iliastra offers a decent variety of snacks and an impressive list of beers both domestic (Vergina, Craft) and imported brands. If your order comprises several bottles of beer or wine, a cold plate (cold cuts and cheese) is offered by the management. If you fancy a more substantial supper, just take a table at the adjacent "Apsenti" (absinth) tavern, owned by the same people. Very friendly service, decent prices. For evenings with live entertainment reservations are recommended.

Decided to pop in for a mid-afternoon cocktail and ended up for hours having dinner and several more cocktails as they were so delicious! The Mediterranean Chios cocktail was my favourite. Service is top notch and the bar looks out across to the marina. Great spot, hope to be back one day!

I have tried their bougatsas in the morning - kasseri and fetta cheese as well as the sweet one with cream. All really fresh and delicious. Tried also some sweets and ice cream. Also highly recommended, especially their ice cream which as we have been told is made by them. They also have a great variety of savory and sweet waffles and pancakes to select from.The place is also very clean and nicely decorated.

Located in the middle of Aplotaria (the main sales road of Chios town) you can't miss it!It's housed on the second floor of a restored neoclassical house and keeps the individual rooms something that makes it very interesting.There are two small balconies with view and an open space ground area that you can sit and watch people passing by and shopping.Usually crowded but I always enjoy a good cup of coffee.

Tricked by google maps we eventually made it to Agia Markella where we were advised to eat by locals. The journey was absolutely worth it! The restaurant is a charming family run place with fish caught on the day and vegetables brown in their garden. The couple Who run the place are incredibly warm and inviting. I'm rating this five stars in the category of Bars, namely a bar that also has a high quality cocktail menu and a good quality selection of bar food and snacks. It isn't a restaurant or fine dining, but in the category of bar, it is outstanding and we loved it so much we ate here twice. The staff are super friendly. Both the cocktails I tried here were amazing - first one was an almond milk cocktail with a beautiful slab of white chocolate sitting on top (so pretty) and the second was a beautiful pomegranate mastic cocktail, also gorgeous and both way too easy to go down. The accompanying food on both occasions was great (check my photos). You can easily enjoy a good lunch here with a cocktail if you don't feel like sitting down to a full heavy cooked taverna meal for lunch.Thank you for visiting us and we really appreciate the time you spent for writing a completed review for our bar - restaurant.
