We had a 1:30 pm reservation, but in the last minute we wanted to change it to 3:30 pm so that we can do the currently active volcano in the morning. They accommodated our request. Our guide Einar Samuelsson was friendly, full of knowledge and funny. He was most helpful holding our hands to help us with difficult to navigate slopes. He made it one of the best highlights of our trip. I can't praise them enough.

David is a genius. This dude knows everything about everything, not just the mountains, rock formations and volcanoes you'll see on the tour, but every single possible thing that you can think of. Honestly, the tour was spectacular. We had so much fun. By the end of the tour, David was more a friend than a driver. His driving is great, communication skills on point, knowledge extensive and humor dark :) The tour started at 8:30, he was there at 8:30. Overall, it was an amazing experience.

Ahhh. The tour not taken. I jumped on a great last minute airfare to Iceland from the US and had little time to plan, so I was panicking, a bit. I read reviews and decided to contact two tour companies, one being Hidden Iceland. They responded immediately with a detailed outline of a private tour that met EXACTLY what I asked for in terms of sights, type of accommodation, level of activity, adventure and flexibility specific to a mom traveling with teenagers. Family friends learned of our trip and decided to join us and ultimately the decision was made to self explore. However- this company’s response was very impressive and I will be envious of those who take a vacation with Hidden Iceland!

This tour was the best thing we did during our travels in Iceland! Thanks to the low tourist numbers we actually had a private tour so it was just two of us with Oddur and Katerina on the glacier that day. We had an amazing time with them, they told us so much about the glacier, took pictures for us and gave us as much time as we wanted. The two are really nice and relaxed, they make you feel safe on the glacier and are just perfect guides! I can strongly recommend doing the tour with them! Thank you guys again for such a wonderful experience!

My wife and I were supposed to go on tour with this group on Thursday, 13/05/2021 and we recieved an email the day before stateing the tour was canceled due to covid restrictions. This is odd as there were still tour groups doing tours, and had this been the real issue they should have told us sooner than a day prior. This short notice cost us a large amount of money in setting up a tour with a different group.

We saw some lights and Armann was amazing. It seems many people on other tours weren’t so lucky but I think it was our guides local knowledge that nailed it for us. What’s more we had a running commentary about the old Gods and local history that was fascinating. I would do this tour again.

If you really want to see Iceland´s raw and spectacular beauty, this day trip is one that you absolutely must take. The Icelandic South Coast is in a league of its own in regards to untamed and intimidating beauty. Drive past 3 of Icelands most powerful volcanoes, listen to stories of elves and trolls, visit a Viking lodge and experience how it is to be a true Viking. Have a Viking tasting plate full of Icelandic food and for a dinner you will have the latest catch of the day. Iceland is known for its magical landscape, glaciers, waterfalls and volcanoes. The South Coast is the most active area in Iceland volcano wise. Visit places like Seljalandsfoss waterfall and walk behind it. We where picked up at Bust stop one in the centre of Reykjavik by a very pleasant young lady ('The German girl'), Faye I think is her name. On time. The whole trip was great fun and our guide/driver was funny, engaging, accommodating and a safe driver. We drove through snow storms that we had never experienced before (we are from Australia) and we never felt like we were in any danger. The sights were pretty quite as far as other tourists are concerned, due to COVID-19 which was rather nice. The farm visit was awesome - food for vegetarians was an option - and our host there was great and provided us with a very interesting bit of history for the local area and their family business (hope they are still managing with all the restrictions). I recommend this trip for anybody as the walking was easy and the bus comfortable.
