Stonehouse Brewery

Our bar & shop are open 6 days a week for you to enjoy a drink and take away some beers. Our bar is lovely and cosy with a wood burner for when it’s cold. A large viewing window lets you take a peek into the brewery and distillery and watch us in action on brewing days. For those warmer days we have plenty of spaced out seating among our cider apple trees in our pretty orchard, where you can enjoy sampling from our range of drinks produced on site. We produce a variety of beers, from rich porters or easy drinking session bitters to crisp refreshing pilsners and IPA’s. We press our own Sweeney Mountain Ciders and also have Henstone Distillery gins, and other spirits. We also offer wine, cocktails and soft drinks. Food available from 12pm - 7pm Wednesday - Saturday from our very own BBQ & smoker. BBQ chicken; burgers; pizzas & lighter options. Dogs and children are very welcome. A trip to Oswestry is not complete until you’ve visited us!

I've been a fan of the Stonehouse Ales for a number of years but this was the first time we've spent an evening on site with friends. Wonderful ale, cider and spirits at a genuinely decent price as you'd expect as you're drinking "at source". Good choice of big hearty food again at a reasonable price. Staff are very friendly, located in a wonderful rural setting and clearly attracts a "decent crowd". Not many better places to spend an evening with friends. Recommended

Wow! What a hidden gem in the countryside. Beautiful backdrop to the outside sculptures which you can hire a buggy and go around if you don't fancy walking. The inside sculptures are placed all over, dont forget to look up too! Great Christmas area for gifts and the tea room entices you with the smells of fresh coffee and warm scones when you walk in. Fantastic place to visit, I will be back for more... plenty of parking, very friendly and informative team of staff with a selection of outside garden pots and ornaments for sale so you can take something home too.

We have used the laser for a few times for the kid's birthday parties and the service has always been great and the kids love it! We decided to try out the 'Lost in Space' escape room and it didn't disappoint. Myself, my partner and the kids aged 10 and 11 really enjoyed it. There was lots of puzzles and problem solving and the set up was fab and well thought out. Paul was a great host as always. Would definitely recommend.

Bywater Cruises - Horse Drawn Canal Boat Cruises

Horse Drawn Canal Boat Trips In this day of fast cars, commuters and computers, we are proud to keep our feet firmly in the horse age. There is no better way to relax and unwind from the stress of modern living than to sit comfortably aboard our special horse-drawn narrowboat and enjoy a memorable journey as you cruise through unspoilt Shropshire countryside on the quiet waters of the Montgomery Canal. In the ‘heyday’ of canals, thousands of horses were employed pulling cargo boats along the canals of England and Wales. Today our narrowboat “Countess” is one of only half a dozen horse-drawn narrowboats in the country. She is the only one running regular cruises on the narrow canals of the UK. So if you are looking for a totally relaxing experience step back in time with us.

There are regular hands-on animal activities, and each day there is a spectacular pig racing event, even try your hand at milking a cow! At Park Hall the kids can play till they’re worn out, try out the two massive indoor play barns with a new ‘Demon Drop Slide’ and bouncy castles. Discover the great outdoors where there are adventure courses, woodland walks and a picturesque lake. Kids can even ‘learn to drive’ in electric cars or landrovers. We had a great day out here. Plenty of outdoor activities (and lovely weather) meant we could stay outdoors all day without needing to try the indoor activities. We loved the dinosaur egg hunt, the driving school, playareas, go karts and the barrel ride. We all enjoyed the maize maze and the pig racing. Easy to social distance from other adults as there is plenty of space and it wasn't over crowded. I saw staff cleaning the toilets and the barrel ride was sanitised after each turn. Our first proper attraction style outing since Covid and we felt safe and had a great time. We would definitely recommend.

Cae Glas Park

Ok, December probably isn’t the best time of year to visit, still it’s an attractive and largish park in a border town. There are lots of monuments, mainly WW I&II related including the town’s war memorials and a statue of Wilfred Owen (born in Oswestry) Nice bandstand, crazy golf, kids play area. The flower beds I’m sure are quite lovely at any other time of year bar winter. Free. Limited Parking nearby, but lots within a few minutes walk.
