SUiTO FUKUOKA

The city of Fukuoka was ranked within the top 10 "most livable" cities by the English magazine “Monocle”. Surrounded by nature, compact, and famous for its delicious food, Fukuoka certainly has a lot more things to offer! Starting from August 8th, “SUiTO FUKUOKA” will have two roles: the first one will be to make foreigners visiting Fukuoka feel the “suito” (love) by offering traditional Japanese experiences starting with the cultural heritage of the Kyushu area. Our second duty will be to make residents able to confidently make recommendations on what they “suito” in their city. The dialect from Hakata is the most liked out of all of the Japanese dialects, and this is why we chose to make “suito” our keyword: we want to make both residents and foreigners like Fukuoka the same way they like the dialect. ①Tourist information ②Experience booking ③Japanese restaurant ④Rental space ⑤ Luggage service

Ohori Park

Reviewed By Tony_Stark983 - Pattaya, Thailand

I discovered this park 4 years ago and everytime I need a place to restore my mind, I use to go there. The best period to visit it it's especially during the sakura season because it's full of cherry trees and the landscape becomes very suggestive. The park surrounds a lake also and you can walk all around it breathing the freshness of flowers and trees. This park is a piece of silence in the middle of the noise, a piece of peace in the rushing days of the people.

Ohorikoen Japanese Garden

Reviewed By shannonl161 - Nagasaki Prefecture, Japan

I have been wanting to go to the Japanese Gardens at Ohori Park in the middle of Fukuoka City for sometime now and with Autumn in full swing the thought of seeing some red crimson Japanese Maple Leaf gave me even more motivation to go and check it out. The location of this attraction can be seen from the outside but only the tops of the trees so I really wasn`t expecting too much but once inside I was in fact blown away by the size, features and overall ambience of the place. Not only are the gardens impeccably maintained but the central pond really sets the centerpiece of the whole place. I was a little rush for time on this day and only spent around 25 minutes here but in all honesty I could have easily spent an hour or more here, just lapping up the breathtaking scene and ambience. On this day, the Teahouses and outer buildings were closed but I lucked out with 2 sets of Japanese couples getting professional pictures taken around the grounds. I wished them luck, sent a message of congratulations and was able to snap a couple of photos of the ladies and gents in their magnificent Kimonos. I am sure the gardens are pristine all year long but i will absolutely want to come back during spring to see the Cherry Blossoms and Azalea foliage during this period. Once I get the times and the booking process under control I will also document and blog about the Green Tea Ceremonies that are held twice a month. I am looking forward to see what kind of facilities are available for the International Travelers as I may include this traditional Japanese Tea Ceremony on my Fukuoka Walking Tour Itinerary.

The devotion of the fans is simply great and I found this possibly even more entertaining than any visit to an American baseball stadium. The food was delicious and the beer girls were very friendly and efficient. We got our tickets through Klook and were guided to our seats. Highly recommended if you're in Fukuoka!

Fukuoka Art Museum

The Fukuoka Art Museum’s collection consists of modern and contemporary art, i.e. art created in the 20th century or later, and pre-modern art, produced in the 19th century or earlier. The collection is highly diverse both historically and geographically, ranging from around 5000 B.C. to A.D. 2000, and including art of Japan, other Asian countries, and the West, and in terms of media, encompassing painting, sculpture and film as well as folding screens, ceramics, and textiles. This diversity is the most prominent feature of the Fukuoka Art Museum’s collection. Our collection has been increasingly enriched through purchases and donations made by individuals and benefactors. The total number of works in the collection now exceeds 16,000.

This is a well run museum specializing more into Japanese Artists though do have several other key pieces, one specific famous Dali painting I was surprised to see there.
