Called on Sunday and ordered the Giant Yorkshire Pudding with Beef.Large pudding arrived but not cooked ,cauliflower not cooked ,peas like bullets. Problem is that the staff do everything on the "run" and nobody seems interested whether you eat it or not.We should have ordered the "junk foods" as mostly these seem to be deep fried and looked OK. Vegetables were al-dente with a capital A almost raw and inedible.Beer was Ok and prices low but so is the quality of the food.I am sorry you were not satisfied with your meal. If you would like to email us at [email protected] I am happy to discuss this more with you.Thankyou.

The Bobbin is located adjacent to the Oakmount mill fabric shop and offers English food,
Visited The Bobbin yesterday for the first time and was very impressed. The food here is excellent. I had the Cesar Salad and it was delicious, my friends both opted for the Chicken Stroganoff and loved it. The cake selection is incredible. Can't wait to go back.

Vegan review: Ate here for a friendâs baby shower. They were very generous with the portion sizes and quite creative! There was an assortment including falafel, potato salad, olives, sun dried tomatoes, wraps, vegan cheese, salad, fruit and chutneys. There was so much I took home what I couldnât finish. They packed it in brown paper bags for me. Dessert was fruit with vegan ice cream and candy floss! It was all for the bargain price of £15.

We were visiting Nelson to do some genealogy research and were looking for some lunch near to the library in the centre of the town. We came across this Bistro and thought we'd give it a try. What a good choice - the food was piping hot and delicious and we both chose Sticky Toffee Pudding - mine came with a large jug of cream, my wife's with a large helping of ice cream. Mmmmmm !! Delicious - can't wait to return to do some more research in the library with a visit to the Ace Centre. Highly recommended.Thank you for your great review! We're glad you enjoyed your visit to the Courtyard Bistro and our sticky toffee pudding! We look forward to welcoming you back soon :)

Serving fresh food, home baked cakes, biscuits and desserts daily, to eat in or takeaway. Afternoon Tea served daily, Booking essential. Dogs welcome.
Called in with my dog and weâd gone to the park but it started raining hard. Always difficult to decide which cake to have but I settled for the blondie and a filter coffee which I prefer to fancier coffees. My dog was given a sausage which went down well. Lots of staff who were either cleaning or baking. Itâs nice to be able to see into the kitchen. Thank you for the lovely review, we do like our 4legged friends

Four of us dined here as itâs usually consistently good quality food at a reasonable price with great service. Unfortunately this time although the service was the usual good standard the food wasnât. Two of us had duck with red cabbage and dauphinoise potato. My duck was chewy and raw in the middle.... which Iâm prepared to accept as I like mine quite pink but the fat had not been rendered and the skin wasnât crispy.... in fact it was blubbery. The duck had obviously not been cooked properly and rested. The potato was not cooked through in the middle which meant I only ate the outside slices. My friend asked for a steak knife to separate the fat from the meat on her duck. Lots of waste on my plate which is a bit of a shame when you are paying for a full plate of edible food. Hopefully this was just a bad day in the kitchen. Our other two meals.... fish and chips and sea bass were fine.

Top quality ingredients, outstandingly well cooked, good flavour combinations and beautiful presentation. Doesn't matter if you choose 2-course, 3-course or taster menu ... pricing is excellent for this quality of food ... for this quality of food its a bargain!Best prawn she'd ever tasted was a comment on our table.

Love this place. The food is always great, served by friendly staff and the atmosphere is homely with a choice of three different areas, each with its own character. The real ale is always spot on, and most importantly, itâs dog friendly with water bowls and treats around.
