It's just a bridge, on the entrance to the toshogu temple. Underneath you can see the clear water of the river. The autumn scenery make the experience very nice.

I cruise a lot and have transited under many bridges. But this one in Yokohama is only surpassed by the one departing Copenhagen in my estimation for excitement. I'm sure glad the Captain knows exactly how tall the tallest point on the ship ... and the lowest point on the Bridge ... are. Because neither departing Yokohama or Copenhagen did he ever slow down or creep under them. But a disaster could occur if his calculations weren't spot on. I was on one of the upper decks, but not the tallest one as we went under Yokohama. But a bunch of people wanted to get as far up as they could go. Scary if the Skipper's calculations were wrong. So for those of you that have not traveled UNDER a bridge on a near 1,000 foot long ship ... I've attached some time lapse photos taken off my video cam you may enjoy. And make sure to look at the people up on top as we were going under the bridge. Notice where THEY are looking. All at the near miss. It's a shame I couldn't attach the audio of the ship's horn blowing. This Captain really must have enjoyed laying on it as I'm sure it blew for 10 or more seconds. I guess the Captain enjoyed going under the Yokohama Bridge as much the rest of us ......

Rainbow Bridge

We walked over the bridge so that we could appreciate the stunning views. We walked on the South side and it took around 30 minutes. The bridge is lit up at night and the views are amazing - you also have Tokyo tower and Tokyo sky tree in the background which make great pictures at night.
