If you're a beer lover, then this is your place! Ring the bell of the Bura brewery and just say you're thirsty - Alessandro and Claudio will welcome you in and give you a tour of the place. Bura is a microbrewery, so don't expect much in terms of size but the team's enthusiasm and hard work will surely blow you away. It's like talking to old friends. Over beer. You can taste the Bura beers (for free) and buy it at the brewery. Keep in mind they don't accept credit cards so bring cash. A lot of it because apart from beer, they have a fair choice of Bura goodies - glasses, wooden openers, ashtrays, wooden beer cases, gift baskets, and T-shirts. (I would kill for a beach towel, though!)

Vunetovo Craft Beer

Reviewed By Marko_Oz86 - Zagreb, Croatia

Almost hidden in the neverending string of various beach bars, rent-a-whatevers and other things that dot the coastline around the town of Hvar, the place can only be described as a Mediterranean beer garden, combining the beer made by the owners themselves - and Anna is an excellent brewer - with traditional snacks and, here and there, dishes. The APA made by them was flawless and in very good shape, something you do NOT run into frequently while island hopping, and the other taps were filled by classically nice Zmajska Pivovara beers, as this "semi-"season didn't give them impetus enough to brew more different things. The prices are as expected when it comes to Hvar, but unlike a lot of places (when it comes to beer), you get what you pay for! Definitely a must-visit if you're in Hvar - and if you're in, say, Amphora, and love beer, there's no excuse not to go here!

Craft beer is still spotty depending on where you are in Europe, but Croatia seems to be embracing the trend, as they have a lot of craft brewers opening up shop. DBC is the first craft brewery in Dubrovnik, and it is conveniently located right across the street from the cruise terminal (literally a 5 minute walk back to the ship). It's a perfect way to end the day after walking the walls and getting some local grub. We showed up right at 4pm when they were to open, and the bartender was a bit late opening up shop (though he knew we were American because we expected them to be open at 4...haha). Their beers are all enjoyable, with the best of the bunch being the special New England style IPA they had on draft (a collab with another local homebrewer, brewed with local citrus). Their lager was also a group favorite. The best beer they had on draft was a barrel aged porter from that same collab brewer. It was excellent! If you're a beer nerd, don't expect world-class offerings. With that said, none of the beer was even remotely disappointing. The bartender was really friendly and informative too. People of Croatia learn English in school, so there wasn't any type of language barrier. The conversation was great, and he even sent us off with a few unexpected complimentary souvenirs from our visit. Such a nice, chill environment to spend an hour or two. We will definitely go back when we return to the area. As a note, they don't have food available but I believe they are OK if you bring food in to enjoy with a beer. Don't quote me on that though.

My wife and I initially visited here for a beer but it was so friendly and interesting that we ate here as well. Then returned again, and again. The food includes pizzas, burgers, sandwiches and chicken wings that were all delicious and well presented. On our first visit we did not recognise any of the beers and were unsure what to order,. The waiter explained the different beer styles and made a couple of excellent recommendations based on the types of beer we preferred. Great food, great beer, great service. Try it!
