Kolsai Lake

We stayed near Kolsay Lake at Gostevoy Dom Alikhan in Kurmeti village. The lake is as beautiful as any in Europe without too many tourists. There re a small number of restaurants having delicious Kazakh dishes. The very friendly family who runs that hotel arranged for a horse ride to the lake. We even drank some tasty Kurmiss (fermented horse milk) at the lake.

Lake Kaindy

Reviewed By darjanb2017

We visited Kaindy lake in September 2018. We rented a driver in Saty (our host knew somebody) and I think that was the best choice ever, because the road to the lake is very difficult to drive by yourself if you don't have experience with driving off-road and you also need to have big jeep for that road. Our driver knew road very well and he made the drive a part of the attraction. The Kaindy lake is very beautiful. We walked around the lake for around three hours, you can also take horses to go around. I thing that this is attraction that you must visit if you are in Kazakhstan, because this lake is 100 years old and there is no like it nowhere near around. The trees in the water are really something special.

Lower Kolsai Lake

Reviewed By AnandDNanavati - Vadodara, India

This lake is easily accessible by road and you do not have to walk or need horses here. There was boating facility available and the lake was beautiful. There were trees growing inside the water and horizontal to the waters surface. You need to visit Kolsai and Kandy to appreciate nature's beauty. There is a Kolsai 2 lake which is 2 to 3 kms walking from lake one so if you have time on your side you can go to the second lake too.
