Reviewed By LondonRioTravellerWe spent 2 nights at the Hotel Taselotzin, one of our best experiences in Mexico. The hotel is located a 15-minute walk from the centre of Cuetzalan along very steep roads. Our rooms were simple but attractively decorated. The restaurant serves excellent and very reasonably-priced breakfasts and authentic local dinners. There's a shop selling hand-embroidered items, soaps and other products made by members of the cooperative that runs the hotel – almost a better choice that's available at the Sunday market, plus you can be secure in the knowledge that the items that you're buying really are locally produced and that the profits really go to the producers. Almost all the staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

Reviewed By Town PThis hotel is an old house that has been updated lovingly. Pretty much every detail was taken care of in style, and the result is a fascinating, unique piece of Mexico that is easy to enjoy. The staff are kind and very attentive, particularly Yazmin at the front desk and a young man who was on duty in the evening shift, but really every staff member was wonderful. The food in the restaurant was fresh and creative, very Mexican but presented creatively and attractively, and the breakfast buffet was nice, authentic regional food. What is more, it is 50 feet from the zocalo (main street) and so was wonderful as a base for seeing Atlixco.

Disappointing
Reviewed By alexandra0610Difficult to find even with satnav, no signs when near hotel. Service upon arrival very indifferent and we didn’t get the room reserved.(maybe an Expedia mistake? But still I would have expected some kind of goodwill gesture from hotel). For the price of the room, it was not good, I would have expected a much higher level of comfort. Dark, dirty, and uncomfortable old beds. Horrible paper dispenser in bathroom that made it look like a public toilet. Very noisy too you could hear people outside and in other rooms. The location is terrible: it’s on the “ugly” side of town. A good 15 min walk in down probably the most horrible and dirty street in Zacatlán and on Sunday it turns into a street market which is a nightmare to cross. The restaurant did look nice but we didn’t try it. Only positive was a nice hot shower. Don’t be deceived though, you can find might better options at a better price elsewhere. I’m sorry but I would not return or recommend this hotel.

Reviewed By 876savannahbWe stayed in El Convento room, and had the best view!! The balcony looks right over the church and prymid. The room is so beautiful and the softest blankets ever too! Every person we encountered was so nice and helpful. They worked with my broken spanish, which I'm so thankful for! We are already planning the next stay! It is right next to shopping and the center square, along with great food everywhere!

Villas Arqueologicas Cholula is located in the city of San Andres Cholula, next to Puebla, Mexico, famous for its 365 churches and various festivities throughout the year, near the archaeological site of Cholula, and just four blocks from the historic city center, located just 30 minutes from the airport of Huejotzingo. Located opposite is the world's largest pyramid in terms of volume. Above the enormous structure, stands the beautiful Nuestra Senora de los Remedios Church. The pyramid has been only partially excavated, contains approximately 4 miles of tunnels where pre-Hispanic murals can be admired.

Reviewed By alec sThe place is quite a hike from the ancient pyramid and church on the hilltop. rooms are nice but cold although to be fair, I went in December. I did not have a heater unlike one reviewer. Food in the restaurant is really not good and one is better off eating in the town and getting a cab back. Nice pool. December is not necessarily the best time to travel to Mexico or indeed anywhere in Central America if one seeks peace and quiet. This due to fiestas of all kinds going on at all times of the day AND night ! and there was a party going in a banqueting area with loud and rowdy guests

Great location, but terrible Wi-Fi

The hotel is in an awesome location that is walking distance to most major tourist sites in the city, as well as many shops, restaurants, cafes, tour buses, and the Zocalo (which was closed). The hotel room was medium size and had a flat screen TV (no English channels. I had a room on the 3rd floor (4th floor in the U.S.) with a Juliet balcony that faced the street, which I enjoyed. There was plenty of natural and artificial light in the room. There was an outlet by the bed to charge your electronics, and another by the desk. The WiFi in my room was terrible. It was very slow, and kept dropping the connection. I ended up using my phone as a hotspot the entire stay. The connection may have been better on the lower floors. The bathroom only had a shower, no tub, which was fine with me. The water was slightly hotter than lukewarm. There is no coffee maker in the room, but free coffee and tea is available in the lobby. They also provided 2 bottles of water per day. There was no food available at the hotel, but plenty of places to eat nearby, many of which deliver. Staff didn't speak English, but were very nice and helpful, particularly the housekeeping staff. I only paid $15.50 USD per night, which was a bargain. I would stay there again.

Reviewed By nicola rThe hotel is well situated to visit the old town. Rooms are clean basic but adequate. There is hot water and fresh clean towels. Bed comfortable. Breakfast was a little late being served, we had to wait with all the other guests but was a good traditional breakfast.

Short budget stay
Reviewed By CharlotteB87We needed a place to stay 1 night, and booked the same day in a bit of a hurry so we didn't really look into the place that much. It is OK, by all standards. The room was small and had no windows, but was clean and the hot water worked fine. I would recommend this only as a last option. It's true that it is in a street that seems sketchy, but I think the town is just like that (a bit loud and overcrowded, with lots of street vendors and such). I didn't feel it got so much better closer to the central plaza, but we didn't feel unsafe at all.
