Exquisite!

Reviewed By RWietlisbach

One of the reasons for choosing the Assembly House was the fact that it's adjacent to the Theatre Royal, as I had bought tickets for a performance on two consecutive nights and thought it would be very convenient. As it turned out, the Assembly House has a LOT more going for itself than its convenient location! What a fabulous building with such a rich history! Service was flawless, and I felt special every moment of my stay. Excellent breakfast! My room (No.2, on the ground floor, with view onto the courtyard, and with a private terrace) was luxurious and cosy, with lots of charm! Without a doubt one of the very best places I've ever stayed at, and I couldn't fault it in any way! If there is one regret, it's that my stay lasted only for 2 nights. I wished I could have stayed at least a week...

38 St Giles Boutique Bed & Breakfast

38 St Giles is a grand house with a long and interesting history. It was built in 1700 for the Gurney family and became home to the former Lord Mayor of Norwich. Its neatly tucked-away entrance just off St Giles Street creates an intimacy and privacy that is unrivalled. We are the most centrally located boutique accommodation in Norwich, a stone's throw from the largest outdoor covered marketplace in the UK and adjacent to 'the lanes' - one of the oldest parts of this fine city and an area of national repute boasting well over 200 independent retailers of fashion, food and just about anything else that you might wish to buy. Inside the main entrance we have a grand staircase from which most of the bedrooms are accessed. From our wonderful double rooms to our two large suites you will be surrounded in comfort and a sense of history. We have chosen an eclectic mix of traditional and contemporary pieces of furniture & artefacts, sumptuous throws, cushions and rugs. Our bathrooms feature oversized walk-in showers and rain shower heads, several rooms also have baths. White, fluffy towels and a range of quality toiletries help ensure that your morning ablutions are a positive experience! In selecting our bedding we have chosen simply embroidered 400 thread count white Egyptian cotton (not easy to iron but wonderful next to the skin) with goose down and feather pillows and duvets. Homemade cakes are served on arrival with a choice of teas or our specially blended and locally roasted coffee. We bake our own bread, make our own preserves and source all of our ingredients from the best local suppliers. No corners are cut in attempting to provide you with a relaxing, comfortable and memorable stay. We are happy to cater for small wedding parties, birthdays, anniversaries and other group bookings. We can even create a special meal with fine wines and champagne on arrival for that extra special treat.

Fabulous Birthday treat

Reviewed By bensH4693AB

I was lucky enough to have a surprise overnight stay in the Gurney suite for my Birthday. The room was immaculately clean and very tastefully decorated. We were greeted with a complimentary bottle of bubbly and homemade cakes. I really cannot fault anything about the room, the bed was super comfy, shower was very powerful and the attention to detail can be seen throughout the hotel. The location couldn’t be better, 2 minute walk into the city centre and perfectly situated for a night out at any of the local top quality restaurants that this area of Norwich has to offer. After a great nights sleep we headed to the breakfast room to be greeted by Darren, we had what I can only describe as the tastiest breakfast with freshly squeezed orange juice, perfectly cooked eggs on sour dough and a great breakfast menu to choose from. I don’t know how breakfast can taste this good (only Darren has the answer). The homemade granola with Greek yogurt is a must try. Thank you to Darren and Sue for running such an amazing little gem in the heart of the city and making our stay absolutely superb.

Bad experience

Reviewed By sunshinetimes2013

I've stayed at many Premier Inns over the years as it was a good bet for a budget hotel. This last stay was £30 more expensive than my last visit: £92.50 for a night. For this, I would have expected a decent WiFi service and the opportunity to watch tv. The WiFi didn't work - others were queueing at reception to complain - and my tv remote control needed new batteries but they didn't have any. In addition to this, the corridor outside smelt damp and musty. Overall, a horrible experience. And they don't even provide a free biscuit any longer. There are displayed at the reception desk with a price tag. To put this in perspective, I stayed in a different hotel chain the following night which, for £20 extra, had a bar, restaurant, lots of helpful staff, excellent WiFi, a tv remote which worked, and a basket of free biscuits. I won't be returning to Premier Inn again.

Fantastic lunch- great service, well priced. Would thoroughly recommend a visit and will definitely be back soon. The desserts were exceptional !

Tired and needs investment. Food average at best, TV really small. Can't put food and drink on room. They had no cask ale. Beds ARE comfortable. Like many places it's too big for its current purpose. I imagine it's great for weddings etc but doesn't feel like they care much about you.

Little gem of a guest house!

Lovely guest house! We would usually stay in the Travelodge up the road, but it was fully booked for the night we required. And thank goodness! This guest house was so lovely. The building itself is gorgeous, and decorated to a high standard. Everything felt clean, welcoming and very well presented. The room itself was clean, warm and quiet. it's situated perfectly, just minutes away from the city centre, the train station and Riverside, and is tucked away enough that there is no noise from the main road. I really feel that this room was great value for money and will definitely be booking again when the need arises!

We stayed at Church Farm as we were in Norwich for a family wedding. The guest house was fantastic, lovely welcoming staff and the rooms were immaculate, we had a double room and a family room. They have been modernised since the photos on here and have everything you need including free WiFi and Netflix! The breakfasts were great and there is plenty of outdoor space to enjoy if the weather is good. We would definitely recommend staying here, and will be returning next time we are in the area.
