Lovely High Quality B&B

Reviewed By JonathanRippon

This B&B really doesn't need any more good reviews but it is excellent. You get a very friendly welcome when you arrive. Breakfast is great and of a high standard. Kelvin even found some marmite for me ! WiFi is good and you'll probably need it as mobile phone signal isn't as it's in a gorge. Driving into the property is a little tricky as it's down a road to the gorge and on a corner but as long as you reverse up 10yards and drive in you're fine (Kelvin does tell you clearly before you arrive).

Outstanding pub/restaurant

Reviewed By Sumsetguy

We had two excellent meals here whilst staying in the adjacent Marston’s hotel. Duty manager Emily was really friendly and provided excellent service during our breakfast visit. Food at breakfast was of a high quality and the continental section was continually replenished. Having been extremely impressed with breakfast service we decided to have our evening meal here also. Upon arrival for our evening meal duty manager Jannine was very helpful and ensured we were seated promptly in the restaurant. Our floor server Shianne was excellent throughout and the food was of a very high quality. This is an outstanding pub/restaurant which was impeccably clean throughout and has an interesting and varied menu. I would highly recommend to all.

Lovely Pub in the Countryside

Reviewed By Menzies13

Visited this pub when last in Wales in 2019 and remembered enjoying the lovely homemade pies for lunch. The pub then was such a delight . Three years later and the gardens and surrounds are beautiful, and the slow cooked Steak and Kidney pie amazing. Steve and Kelly have done wonders for the pub since taking over. This time we stayed overnight in one of the rooms attached to the pub. Nicely furnished room with a large bathroom and nice touches of Welsh bake stones, Welsh tea/coffee in the rooms. Staff were a delight and the full breakfast in the morning wonderful. There is also a nice gift shop highlighting local wares. Hopefully we will have time to visit again before heading home.

Excellent hospitality

Reviewed By LucanScreed

A lovely guest house with one ground floor room (which we had) and 3 rooms upstairs. Rooms were en suite and spacious. A very nivce touch - in addition to teas, coffees, jar of biscuits and sweets - were the slices of homemade cake left for us every evening of our 3 night stay. Great breakfast, including very tasty black pudding. Janice, the host, was very helpful and accommodating. On site parking too, with overflow parking in the The Castle Inn directly opposite the guest house. Overall, highly recommended.
