Lovely Hotel

Reviewed By Fiona R

I stayed with my two young sons at Howarth House over the Jubilee Bank Holiday. I had a double bed and adjacent to this was a bunk bed for my sons. The decor was nice, each room had a TV and the beds were comfy. The rooms were cleaned and were cleaned/tidied daily. A hairdryer and complimentary toiletries were included. Tea and coffee provided in the room. The bathroom had a bath and shower and the towels were lovely and soft. Breakfast was delicious with a choice of cereal, fruit, croissants or a full english breakfast. Juice, tea and coffee were offered. A lovely stay. The owners have dogs which were gorgeous. Howarth House is beautiful, and very close to the local attractions (beach, cinema, pool, arcades, pier etc). Would love to stay again.

We have grown to love St Annes and being a 50 minute drive away it is perfect for short breaks. We stayed here recently for two nights in a top floor room which has a bathroom with shower over and good water pressure and is a good size bathroom. There are toiletries provided and nice soft white towels. A quirky bedroom with a random mix of furniture with a comfortable bed. There are two comfy arm chairs with a small table between. There is a velux window and blind in all 3 areas. There is another area that is useful and has a microwave and a great cold fridge and there is a table with two chairs. We have booked this room again later in the year. There is some parking on the forecourt for about 5 cars and some street parking. We manage to park on the forecourt and Norah said we could stay there after check out which is 11 am It was lovely suggestion so that we could spend the morning walking round but there are plenty of 90 minute space along the front if you go early. The word quirky is perfect to describe this BB but the real selling point is the addition of a large modern bright airy breakfast room over looking the garden. I feel qualified to say the breakfast here is one if not the best we have had as during the pandemic we have stayed at BB / Hotels many times. Prior to the pandemic we always went abroad. The owners Norah and Andrew are a great team, she has exceptional service skills and he is a great chef and all round friendly informative guy being from the area. They pride themselves on providing the best of ingredients Lancashire has to offer. We are proud to be from Lancashire and loved the way the sourced lovely bacon and sausage and even a Lancashire style yoghurt which my husband said is delicious. There is a buffet style help yourself to an amazing array of cereals with lots of seeds, dried fruits, to add to your choice. There is fresh orange juice brought to your table. The fresh fruit choice is amazing or you can have prepared fruit which was so fresh and delicious. Not forgetting the tables are set with lovely fresh cream table clothes and napkins. The motto is have a relaxed breakfast experience and this is what we had. No mass cooked food here and food is served hot and most important not swimming in grease. The toast is prepared for you. We like a slice with our breakfast and one slice with our marmalade or jam. No little pots of bought preserves here, homemade is offered. The butter is small cubes and we got our second hot toast with a fresh little dish of butter. I have noticed that most BB now have gone over to continental style buffet breakfast. ( We had the misfortune recently to book an hotel last minute offering this but one guest coughed so much over the toaster and bread area that we skipped our breakfast.) Everything is covered at the Breverton and believe me the breakfast sets you up for the day. Norah and Andrew are happy to point you to nice places to eat. I had already booked the Imli ( superb Indian a short stroll from this BB and the set menu here is amazing value 5.30 - 7pm every evening but for Friday and Saturday and I believe all day Sunday.) We wanted something lighter not a Restaurant for our second night and on their recommendation we tried St Annes fish bar. Perfect fish and chips and again walkable. Great suggestion and the dining room is lovely. It is busy Friday and there were no specials that day. Still great value and the food is hot and freshly cooked. The Breverton is a perfect choice is you want to be in centre close to all the Restaurants and bars and best to book direct as they don’t feature on booking.com etc that much and it is cheaper. It was how we came to learn of the BB but we booked direct with Norah. Thank you both for a great stay and see you later in the year!

We arrived for a 3 night stay B&B, welcomed by Stuart and given the key to an exceptionally nice room, I can only guess it had been re-furbished recently, the room had secondary glazing which kept the street noise to a bare minimum. The bathroom had a fantastic big shower tray and great hot water. We were welcomed each morning by Stuart, who took our breakfast order, one of the best hotel breakfasts we have had. Will certainly return here when next in the Lytham and Thanks again STUART

We had a lovely 2 night stay at The Cumbria. The hosts were welcoming, friendly and attentive. The room was nice and clean with seaside themed decor and plenty of tea/coffee making supplies were available. The beds were super comfy and had an adequately sized bathroom with shower which was equally as clean. The cooked breakfast was well worth the £5 each as there was plenty and it tasted delicious. Just a short walk to the prom and St Annes shopping centre. We will be staying here again!

Our room.. number 2 was spotless and a great size. Breakfast was one of the best We’ve had in a hotel all good produce cooked well and just the right size. The nice touch of sherry (served from a lovely decanter) as a nightcap was much appreciated and made a good nights sleep even better. 10/10 for everything and we will return to a great hotel with 2 lovely hosts Thank you Simon&Cheryl

A lovely stay

Reviewed By MrsKatieL

We usually stay in Sweet Suites (the sister apartments up the road) but went for these as the kids get their own room and bunk beds. The apartment was very clean, with nice Christmas touches. Everything we needed was provided and our two night stay to see the panto in Blackpool was very much enjoyed. We are one night in the apartment- a takeaway, all crockery and cutlery provided and dishwasher tablets to keep it all clean. The kids loved the Netflix on their TV and the comfy beds and USB sockets. We will certainly be staying again, it beats paying the same for a hotel!
