Triumph under pressure

Reviewed By Kiltednomad

The hotel room was spotless and the bed was comfy. We could hear surprisingly little noise given the festival that was on. Breakfast was great but it was at dinner that I was most impressed. Eden and Oliver in particular worked tirelessly in a mobbed dining room and never let their smiles slip in front of customers. Considering how busy the place was, we didn’t have to wait long for food. My one tiny criticism would be to ask for more blue cheese in my chicken sauce please. Otherwise this place was exemplary!

GREAT SHORT BREAK

Had a brilliant short stay at the Seaton Lane Inn. Everything about this place was excellent, the bar, the accommodation, the food and not forgetting the wonderful staff who looked after us, namely Bobbi, the 2 Jo's and also the guy who was on the bar when we checked out (sorry I did not get your name). All the team looked like they enjoyed their jobs and are a credit to your company. Will definitely return to the Seaton Lane Inn and we are also looking to try some of your other properties. Lovely post walk lunch

Reviewed By puddleduck2

We visit Middleton quite often as it’s on one of our favourite walking routes but had not eaten here before. Lunch is served until 3pm which is a bonus as we’ve found some only do it until 2pm. We (and our dog) were met with a warm welcome and quickly served a drink. There’s loads to choose from on the lunch menu (there is even a doggie menu!) I had the sausage, mash and veg, while the hubby had a croque monsieur. Both dishes were very tasty. We also had a dessert each. Service was good and the two guys very friendly. Just what we needed after a 10 miler! We’ll definitely be back.

Lovely but could do with some work

Reviewed By christinabE641PP

We stayed for 4 nights in Room 1, an apartment. It definitely doesn't look like the apartment advertised online but hey, we will go with. Was a little disappointed with a few things that I'm sure the hotel could fix. 1. The oven in our room had no handle on the door so would be considered dangerous to use however, it also contained no grill shelves or trays so I couldn't have used it if I wanted to. This would be an issue if maybe people had young children or dietary needs and they wanted to cook themselves or were just keeping to a budget. 2. The microwave door looked like someone had punched it. Again no biggie but doesn't look good. 3. The window only opened slightly and only one opened. We asked for the key to the other two windows but were refused on the basis of security. Surely if one window can open then two can??? It was extremely hot in the room and we had to put a shoe in the main door to try and get some more air. 4. I think they were having a problem with the drains, as the shower wouldn't drain away which was a bit concerning once the water got near the shower door. 5. Lastly, I think breakfast service should be reviewed. Time is 7-9am however, if you have been out the night previous it's a struggle to get up for this. However McDonald's is a hop and skip away. Other than the above it was a good base for us. With a bit of effort this could be a lovely place. Special mention to Sue who goes above and beyond should you need anything, she is a credit to the hotel.

My husband and I spent a night here in April, and it completely exceeded our (already high) expectations. The house and grounds are just beautiful. Rooms are larger, and the snooker room is a great touch. But the real highlight is Christine, she provides a wonderful, personal service, and the breakfast was excellent. They are also very dog friendly. We are already planning to go back and can’t wait!

Fabulous Stay!

Stayed here from Friday to Sunday (today) to visit Beamish Museum. Checked in with Olivia who then showed us to our room. The room was good, very clean and airey. We booked to eat at 6.30pm. Our table was reserved for us. We were told that there was live music on Friday’s. I ordered scampi and chips my husband ordered rump steak. The portion sizes were fantastic and the food was absolutely delicious. The young girl singer sang a variety of songs to suit all ages and was good. Breakfast was equally delicious and cooked to order. The breakfast waitress was very friendly (as were all the staff) and welcoming. Dinner last night was great. We chose the light bites 5 dishes for £18. Perfect to sit and enjoy together. I can only say that for £90 per night per room B&B it was extremely good value for money and a great experience. Definitely would like a return visit!
