Fantastic beach visit today - beautiful broad sandy beach, shallow entrance into the water and sand dunes to shelter from the breeze. No problem social distancing. Easy access via Smugglers Trail.

Stevenston Beach

Stevenston Beach is 4km long and is backed at its northern end by a large Beach Park and Local Nature Reserve. The nature reserve is principally composed of semi-mobile dunes and contains a wealth of coastal wildflower and insect species. The Stevenston-Saltcoats promenade leads from the north end of the reserve into Saltcoats town centre.

Another revisit after easing on lockdown car park was very busy but a few spaces available. Has a picnic on a glorious sunny day with a wee chill breeze. Views across to Arran were fantastic. Great to see loads of families maintaining social distance and hopefully like us thoroughly enjoying themselves. Walked out to Western Gailes golf course and back
