Our establishment is a typical old fashioned so called brown Cafe with an open view of Het IJ. We are a Free house which is not very common in the Netherlands. This gives us the freedom to choose good products without any brewery obligations. As a beer specialist we stock one red and one white wine supplied by a well known local distributor. We also serve typical Dutch finger foods and snacks.

Aloha! Here at Rum Barrel West we have well over 150(!) different rums. These are way too many too choose; so we organize specialized Rum Tastings! These tastings can be participated starting with 2 guests all the way up to a group of 40 people. During the tasting the owner, Balthazar, will go through the exciting history of rum, break down why there are so many different styles and flavors and exactly explain how rum is created from Sugar Cane to Bottle! With tastings starting from 3 to 5 rums per person, you are sure to be taken across the Caribbean and the rest of the world tasting what Rum really has to offer. Our tastings are interactive, with all your questions answered. It is advised to make a reservation for a tasting session, which can be done easily through our website!
