After a long walk on Sunday we were worried you werenât doing food. But pleasantly surprised you were. What a fantastic lunch. Huge portions we had the chicken & lamb with mash & roast potatoes mmmmmm!!! No room for deserts. Think they stop doing food on Sunday at 4.30. Staff are very welcoming & friendly, dog friendly also which is a big must for us going anywhere to eat.Definitely recommend if you love old pubs and a good chat.

Thinking about moving to Harpenden. Had a walk down the main street, and saw this pub. We sat outside in the sunshine. Lager and wine were ok although what i would call London prices, and the sandwiches were a little on the thin side. Bar staff were nice enough. I know this pub well and is my local, I decided this was the best place to hold my 10th Wedding Anniversary party. Michelle was really accommodating and we had agreed food and drinks.Drinks were served all eve and a great vegan curry, Hot dogs and a selection of buffet food it was beautiful. I cannot stress enough about how good this little gem of a pub is for this sort of thing. It completely made my night.

We were 5 adults and 5 children for a family birthday lunch. Probably quite noisy with all the children, we were nevertheless made to feel extremely welcome and given a nice table in the light and airy conservatory. The chickpea and spinach curry was really delicious and the fishcake was very tasty too. The kids cleared their plates of sausage and chips. Good wine list and lovely atmosphere. The Harpenden Arms is undoubtably a nice place to be, itâs well kept, light (high ceilings and large windows) and it stands in a prime location at the top of Station Road. There is a mix of seating types to cater for all and it felt warm and welcoming with a log fire. There is a bar area and a more formal restaurant, plus a function room upstairs. Last night we sat in the bar and had a few drinks and some of their sharing plates. The triple cooked chips were fantastic, the other dishes were ok, not amazing but tasty enough, the lamb kebabs were probably the highlight, the chicken wings less so. But they came with some bread to mop up the sauce and for £20 for the four dishes our appetite was satisfied. The beer is good, they donât (or didnât last night) have a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc though. The service was excellent. Thank you for your review, it's good to see you had a good visit to us. You can tell as soon as you walk in that this is a popular pub.The age range of the clientele was varied and there was a friendly feel around the place.The staff were friendly and there was a good choice of beers and gins.I had a good pint of Tring and my wife enjoyed her Rhubarb gin.The pub was warm and comfortable too.

Really enjoyable dinner with friends and family. Great steak frites with a glass of wine offer on Wednesdayâs .... and the steak was delicious. Lovely atmosphere & perfect service. Visited a couple of times last year and was disappointed with the food - but definitely improved and we look forward to more regular visits.

I booked my wedding reception here last Friday. We wanted something relaxed, but beautiful and the Manager, Adam, ensured this happened. There was a separate room that seated 17 people and champagne was ready when we arrived. We asked for some time for speeches, which was great and the food arrived at the right time, organised and beautiful. There was the most wonderful ginger dip for the tempura mushrooms, which I asked to have on my chicken salad too - gorgeous, People asked for things and everything was accommodated. It really was perfect. No one wanted to leave. Thank you so much for putting on such excellent service.
