Artvo Gold Coast

Stepping into a world of optical illusions, the larger than life murals allow people of all ages to come face to face with wild animals, scale rocky crevasses and surf the ultimate pipelines. Stretching over 1400 square metres, visitors can walk through a variety of different zones, each with its own spectacular theme. ArtVo illusions offers everyone the chance to experience the traditional art museum in a whole new way. It offers their patrons the opportunity, to not only touch the art but be the art by simply striking a pose in front of the camera. What is even more refreshing are the museum staff who encourage you to take as many photos and selfies as possible. They can assist you so you and your friends are free to become part of the art at all times. A fantastic idea for all ages!

This was our second ArtVo experience (having been to the one in Melbourne) and we had a great time. Our 3 kids (6yr old and twin almost 2 year olds) also enjoyed it, with the older one taking pics and posing and the littlies being happy enough looking around.

This gallery is magical. To be able to see the work of such a huge, international talent right here on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia is something else. Added to the awe of Peter Phillip's artwork is the paradisal setting of the gallery itself. Palm trees tower over the lush, tropical, meandering gardens, birdsong fills your ears and a sense of peace envelops you. Visit the Phillips Gallery and you will be enriched.

When visiting Brisbane we visited GOMA and loved the current exhibition of the wonderful Margaret Olley paintings, and also the Ben Quilty exhibition. This is an excellent gallery, and the curation was excellent. We would always come back here when visiting Brisbane in the future.

I really enjoyed this art gallery, especially Mawurndjul’s art. A national treasure. Very will done, with barks, and video recordings. The Chinese history of the Yanf family and other Chinese families was very informative .
