Viinistu Art Museum

In the little coastal village Viinistu you can visit Art Museum founded in an old cold store of fish. Viinistu Art Museum displays works of hundreds of Estonian artists throughout times. The owner of the art collection is Jaan Manitski. Exhibitions alternating each month in galleries converted from water tanks attract people. Concerts of different performers are also organised in the museum.

Boasting the second-largest collection of Estonian art in the world after Kumu in Tallinn, this museum is a revelation. Much bigger than it appears, it features an impressively broad range of art, from classics to contemporary. Take your time to explore the full collection - you could easily spend a few hours here. Tickets are just €5, which for a collection of this quality and diversity is a steal.

Museum of Coastal Folk

The Museum of Coastal Folk is situated in the ancient seaside village of Pringi in Viimsi, just a 30-minute drive from central Tallinn. Here, in a cosy old schoolhouse, the museum has found a home for itself, a place to demonstrate the harmony of land, sea and man meeting, a place to preserve the beauty of simplicity. Here, on Viimsi peninsula, the land ends. You cannot go any further on foot, and you don't want to go back. Exhibitions as well as educational and artistic programmes show the many faces of Estonia's coastal folk, their history and culture, and the present seaside culture. You can count on smelling the waft of tar and hearing fishermen's jokes as well as sailors' words of wisdom! A nice sea-themed play room and the seal-boy Vigri are present to give little visitors an appreciation of the seaside lifestyle, so essential to everyone who lives in a sea-state. The museum shop is renowned for its choice of marine-themed presents and books. See also Viimsi Open Air Museum - one ticket, two museums.

Marzipana Gallery

Reviewed By Peteincairns - Cairns, Australia

Just wandering down the cobblestone street of Tallinn when we saw this amazing shop/Gallery!! Went in and was blown away by all the Marzipan sculptures!! We were told to go downstairs and have a look around as well. There we encountered more sculptures... life size, cartoon characters, buildings, animals.... we also were given some samples of Marzipan and being a lover of the stuff, we of course bought some!!! Worth the time to go and see.....!!
