“Love this gallery, the owners are so friendly and welcoming and encourage you to ask questions. There is a great selection of art, the ceramics collection alone makes Gallery Zozimus worth a visit. Definitely will be back.”

Love the RHA which is a visual arts society run by artists. A superb city centre gallery space also offering various art classes as well as regular exhibition. In particular their Annual Exhibition is fantastic and I love to visit it to see the wealth of contemporary Irish art selected via open submission - paint, sculpture, print, photography, drawing and architecture - it's all here, and it's all fantastic.

Olivier Cornet Gallery

Located at 3 Great Denmark Street in the Parnell Square Cultural Quarter, the heart of Georgian Dublin, the Olivier Cornet Art Gallery is now one of Ireland's most exciting modern & contemporary fine art galleries, representing accomplished Irish-based visual artists, working in a variety of media such as painting, sculpture, ceramics, photography, fine prints and digital art. "Olivier Cornet has a knack for curating good thematic shows, allowing artists to affiliate their work to a subject – in this case climate change – without distorting their customary practices. Here he elicits thoughtful, nuanced responses from a number of fine artists including Jordi Fornies, Claire Halpin, Eoin Mac Lochlainn, Yanny Petters, Freda Rupp, Aisling Conroy, Vicky Smith and more". Aidan Dunne, "The best art exhibitions this week – from 2°C in Dublin to Outposts in Cork"

The Doorway Gallery

The Doorway Gallery exhibits fine art paintings and other art works from a selection of both Irish born and Irish resident artists, each recognised for their unique talent and contribution to art in Ireland. A goal of The Doorway Gallery is to support artists in achieving international recognition for their work. This is achieved through a presence at a number of international art fairs each year at which a selection of art works is promoted. There is an independent ethos to The Doorway Gallery; patrons are encouraged to develop their own tastes in art appreciation. This is reflected in the gallery’s solo shows which take place each month to boost the artist profile.

Genuinely exceptional service at the Doorway which has been my favourite Gallery in Dublin for many years. I had been disappointed at missing out on the purchase of a particular painting in the recent Christmas show and Denise went to incredible lengths to achieve an excellent alternative for me. While the Gallery is closed due to the Covid pandemic my purchse was delivered to my door! To Dubliners or anyone visiting the city I would highly recommend a visit. The range of interesting modern Irish art on display changes frequently and the central location makes it easy to find and a worthwhile venue for a pleasant experience.

Yesterday, when I was walking home from Ranelagh and I was looking for shelter from a sudden shower, typical for this time of the year, I discovered the Gerard Byrne Studio. I simply went in and was greeted very friendly by the gallery staff. After a little while Elena came over to me and shared some really interesting information about the well known Irish self-taught Painter Gerard Byrne. His works are very varied. Elena and his wife Agata and their colleague were extremely friendly and helpful. I had the chance to learn more about Gerard's habits and favourite motives. His passion in summer is painting outside, Many beautiful spots from Dublin and its surroundings are depicted and captured mainly in oil, but sometimes also in charcoal. As we are in Dublin the winter season doesn't lend itself for outdoor painting, this is, when he either paints still lives or groups of people. I particularly liked the scenes from cooks and people in restaurant. Go and have a look, if you can find his signature "thing" in all pictures that display people! It is really funny, I highly recommend to explore.
