Clare Mason Studio

I was left a little inheritance from my grandad and decided to look for an artist to commission a painting that would remind me of him. I stumbled upon Clare’s studio and her work captured me when I walked through the door. Through every step of the commission from planning to delivery Clare has kept in touch. I truly feel the painting is so personal with real meaning, from the silhouettes on the beach of my family, to the sails on the horizon depicting my grandparents. It is a piece of art l will treasure for ever. Thank you Clare

A beautiful and very well-kept garden. It has many beautiful pieces of art and is both enjoyable for families, singles and couples alike. Apart from the beautiful plants and the great view of Mounts Bay, it is also a must to visit the very high-quality restaurant that is part of the garden which serves great food and really makes for a great ending after visiting the garden.

The Exchange

The Exchange is a major contemporary art space in the centre of Penzance that opened in 2007 in conjunction with renovations to Newlyn Art Gallery. Together the galleries present contemporary work in all media by regional, national and international artists, with a programme of events, activities and education. Formerly the town’s telephone exchange, the huge space retains the original industrial feel of the building and features a large t-shaped gallery and a striking glass facade that runs the entire length of the building. Its international reputation allows it to bring some of the best art being produced around the globe to Cornwall. The Exchange is located off historic Chapel Street, within easy walking distance of the bus and train stations. There is a well-stocked book and gift shop plus a cafe serving snacks and light lunches. Well behaved dogs are welcome.
