Mongolia /mɒŋˈɡoʊliə/ ( listen) (Monggol Ulus in Mongolian; Монгол Улс in Mongolian Cyrillic) is a landlocked unitary sovereign state in East Asia. Its area is roughly equivalent with the historical territory of Outer Mongolia, and that term is sometimes used to refer to the current state. It is sandwiched between China to the south and Russia to the north. Mongolia does not share a border with Kazakhstan, although only 37 kilometres (23 mi) separates them.

1. Overnight Amarbayasgalant Monastery Tour

Travel Mongolia

The complex of Amarbayasgalant Monastery was built during 1727-1736, in the honour of Under Gegeen Zanabazar, the first Bogd of Mongolia. It is situated in the cul-de-sac of a long, deep valley backed by the sheef cliff of Burenkhan Mountain against which Amarbayasgalant monastery is built. The valley is well-watered by the Evin River and has long been renown for its rich vegetation in this arid part of north central Asia. The valley is covered throughout its extent with Turkic-era graves of various geometric shapes marked out in large boulders. These important archaeological features which date from the 3rd-7th centuries are the indication that the valley has long-standing sacred associations for the people of Mongolia, associations which continued uninterupted into the Buddhist era when the were re-validated by the construction of Amarbayasgalant Monastery on this historic site.

Bachi was fast to collect money. December 2019, I made a full payment for the Mongolia tour in May 2020. Under the agreement, I can have 100% refund when I cancelled before April 2020. Due to Covid, I need to cancel the tour in March and asked for refund. After numerous emails and empty promises from Bachi, 9 months have passed and U never get my money back. In addition, he is now uncontactable. While I understand that tourism could be worst hit by Covid. The least he could do is to reply me - and if he gives a date - to honour it.

My friend and me did a 24 hour tour in the Gorkhi-Terelj national park. This could be organized very short term the afternoon before the morning we left! We did a small hike, had mongolian lunch, dinner and breakfast from a nomad family, and did a 5 hours horse riding in the beautiful landscape. We also saw the Dschingis Khan statue and did some other stops. We could basically stop wherever we wanted. We only had little time to stay in Mongolia but were able to see so much doing this tour!
