Il nuraghe sorge su di un breve pianoro a 648 metri s.l.m. in posizione strategica per il controllo della via naturale che da Macomer porta all’altopiano di Campeda, in una zona comunque ricca di emergenze archeologiche. E’ un nuraghe di tipo complesso con torre centrale racchiusa da un bastione quadrilobato che include nella fronte un cortile a cielo aperto. Il mastio di forma tronco conica ha pianta circolare e si conserva per un’altezza di 15,40 m allo svettamento, mentre in origine doveva raggiungere almeno i 20 m.
